St Gabriel's Douglassville PA An Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Bethlehem

Worship Times:
5:00 pm Sat
8:00 & 10:30 am Sun

At St. Gabriel's Church, we focus on "Learning and Doing the Work of Jesus." We strive to serve like Jesus, both within and outside of our walls. That means welcoming everyone, regardless of age, race, sexual identity, or past life experiences. We gather together in community to pray, listen to the Bible, to sing as we worship God, and to be fed in the Eucharist. Gathering in community also means

that we
share our lives with one another: joys, struggles, times of sadness, and celebrations. The end of our worship is focused on sending us out into the world, to be empowered to live as followers of Jesus in all parts of our lives. We hope you can come experience the community of St. We hold three worship services every weekend.
5:00 pm Saturdays (with guitar music and singing)
8:00 am Sundays (spoken service with no music)
10:30 am Sundays* (with organ music and singing)

*Our 10:30 service switches to 10:00 am for the summer, Memorial Day through Labor Day

Ready for a round of Bible Trivia?? I know I am!!

King David wanted to build a glorious temple for worshiping God and for housing the ark of the covenant. God, however, did not permit him to build it. Instead, God chose Solomon, David’s son, to head up the building program. Why wasn’t David allowed the honor of building the temple?

A. David was getting too old to supervise such an undertaking.
B. David had been a warrior and had shed blood.
C. David had stopped taking God seriously.
D. David’s attention was required elsewhere.

This may be a tough one... Check out 1 Chronicles 28:3 if you're having trouble!

Today, we celebrate the feast day of St. Barnabas the Apostle! A prominent follower of Christ in the early Christan Church, he went on many missionary journeys with Paul the Apostle and is traditionally credited as the founder of the Cypriot Orthodox Church.

🙏 Grant, O God, that we may follow the example of your faithful servant Barnabas, who, seeking not his own renown but the wellbeing of your Church, gave generously of his life and substance for the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

What are you Grateful for today?

Gratitude is the beginning of faith; faith leads us to the ultimate gratitude.

Gratitude is often the first quiet step of faith. Before answers come, before circumstances change, gratitude teaches the heart to notice God’s presence and provision. Scripture reminds us, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18, KJV). Giving thanks, even in uncertain moments, opens our eyes to God’s faithfulness already at work.
