This week we focused on Psalm 51.

Secrets that keep people sick.

A cathedral rebuilt from ash.

Two strangers whose honesty saved each other and millions more.

A man freed to share the comfort he received from Jesus with his community.

All of it pointed to one thing, a broken and honest heart made new.

๐ƒ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ ๐’๐ญ๐ž๐ฉ๐ฌ - ๐“๐ฐ๐จ ๐’๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐š ๐‡๐จ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ ๐‹๐จ๐›๐›๐ฒ

In 1935, a newly sober man named Bill Wilson was desperate to keep from drinking again on a business trip.

Instead of giving in, he found another struggling man and just talked to him.

That conversation became Alcoholics Anonymous.

Bill W. and Dr. Bobโ€™s willingness to step into each otherโ€™s โ€œmessโ€ was what began to bring healing.

Remember though: Your mess wasnโ€™t from God.

But the comfort he gives you inside it was never meant to stop with you.

๐ƒ๐š๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ ๐’๐ญ๐ž๐ฉ๐ฌ - ๐‘๐ž๐›๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐ญ, ๐๐จ๐ญ ๐๐š๐ญ๐œ๐ก๐ž๐

In 2019, fire tore through Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris and collapsed its spire.

Everyone thought it could never be fully restored.

It was gone.

But, five years later, it reopened, not patched up, but rebuilt from the ground up.

Thatโ€™s what God does with a surrendered life.

He doesnโ€™t touch up the old version of you.

He builds something new.

Yesterday I shared that back in the 1980s, a psychologist had students write honestly about their most painful hidden secrets for fifteen minutes a day.

Months later, they were visiting the doctor at half the rate of students who wrote about safe, surface level things.

The fact is: hiding something doesnโ€™t just weigh on your soul.
It can actually wear down your body.
