Oaks Chapel Bible Church

Oaks Chapel Bible Church At Oaks Chapel, our passion is to see, be shaped by, and share the goodness of God. We gather at 10am on Sunday mornings.

We would love to have you join us at 10:00 am in person or online for one of our Sunday morning services! We want to follow Jesus and make disciples as we gather to worship, grow in small groups, and go into our world.

We are some of the most independent people on the planet. We are wired to believe we can handle things on our own and asking for help is weakness.

But Paul says in Galatians 6 that biblical freedom looks like both carrying others and allowing yourself to be carried.

As you reflect on the message from Sunday, here are a few questions to consider:
Whose burden has God placed close enough for you to help carry?
Where are you refusing help because you do not want anyone to see that you need it? And who needs to hear what God taught you through the scriptures this week?

Before you have done anything impressive, Jesus looks at you and declares who you are - salt and light. A shining city on a hill. Not someday, already.

Identity comes before activity in the kingdom of God. The only question is whether you are letting that reality show up in the places he has already put you.

Identify one relationship in your life where your faith is largely invisible. Pray specifically for one natural, genuine opportunity to let it show this week.

Something beautiful happens when women get a little time and space to spend real time together.

Not rushed, not while wrangling kids, not in passing on the way out of church, just actually present with each other.

Gather, our Women's Retreat, is coming up October 2 and 3 at the Marriott DFW Westlake, and we made it simple on purpose. A few grounding devotionals, good company, and the rest of the time is yours. To rest. To connect. To be known and to know others in the way that busy life rarely makes room for.

Registration is open at OaksChapel.org/events. We cannot wait to find a new pace of life together that weekend.

Kids singing at the top of their lungs, hands raised, baptisms celebrated, a call to be salt & light, and a room full of people choosing to see the goodness of God together.
Sunday was a really good one.

Most of us have done the chameleon thing at some point.

A different version of ourselves at work, at school, on the sports field, at church. Keeping Jesus tucked away in his own little compartment where it feels safe.

The problem is Jesus says some things that make private Christianity really hard to maintain. You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world.

Salt is only effective when it comes into contact with something and light only does its job when it is not covered up. Jesus does not ask His followers to become visible, He tells them they already are.

We talk about the cross freeing us from sin.

But Paul says it does something else too. It frees us from ourselves. Not just our forgiveness, but our selfishness.

The cross tilts the mirror away from us and toward God. And when culture keeps pulling everything inward, that is the only thing powerful enough to change the direction we are facing.

Why should the kids get to have all the fun?

Starting September 6, while students gather downstairs for their monthly hangout after service, middle and high school parents are invited to meet up in the cafe for snacks and good conversation until noon.

Zero agenda. Just a chance to connect with other parents who are doing this whole teenager parenting thing right alongside you. Hope to see you there.

It is really hard not to make life about yourself in a world specifically designed to make life about you.

The algorithms, the screens, the mirrors everywhere, all of it pulls us inward.

But the gospel pulls outward. The cross, Paul says, frees us from ourselves. Not just from our sin, but from the pull to live only for ourselves. The others-focused life is exactly what the church needs to show the world right now.
