Across the Wiregrass, many of our Christian brothers and sisters are gathering in humble prayer for their cities including the Pray for Dothan and Pray for Ozark efforts. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we gladly join our voices with theirs.

Prayer is one of the simplest and most powerful ways we can bless our communities. When we pray together across congregations, denominations, and backgrounds we invite the Lord to heal hearts, strengthen families, and guide civic leaders with wisdom and compassion.

This week’s Come, Follow Me reminds us that the Lord hears the prayers of His people and often works through united faith. Throughout scripture, God’s power is revealed when communities turn to Him with one heart and one mind.

As a stake, we encourage everyone to:
•Join with local Christians in praying for our cities
•Seek the Lord’s guidance for our neighborhoods, schools, and families
•Participate in community efforts that uplift and strengthen the Wiregrass.

Let’s be a light.

Let’s be a people of prayer.

And let’s stand shoulder‑to‑shoulder with all who call upon God in faith.

On July 6th, Kristy Atterberry and her family prepared pulled pork sandwiches and helped feed more than 125 of God’s children served through Living Hope.

Kristy was energetic about her efforts and truly made it a joy for Living Hope. She also gathered a small crew to help prepare and deliver the food, allowing many to be blessed through this effort.

We are grateful for our ongoing collaboration with Living Hope and for every opportunity to serve as Jesus Christ served with love, humility, and a desire to lift those in need.

On July 5, the First Presidency has invited us to unite in a worldwide fast focused on gratitude for the blessing of religious liberty and seeking Heaven’s help that it may be strengthened throughout the world.
As we fast together, may we feel greater peace, unity, and the Lord’s guiding hand.

Today we honor the righteous men of the Dothan Alabama Stake who quietly and faithfully lead, lift, and love.

The Family Proclamation teaches that fathers are to preside in love and righteousness, provide the necessities of life, and protect their families.

Thank you for living these truths with devotion. Your priesthood service, your steady example, and your Christlike influence strengthen homes, wards, and our entire stake.

Happy Father’s Day to every father, grandfather, and father‑figure who reflects the love of our Heavenly Father.

What a blessing to witness the Savior’s love in action.

As part of the America250 ‘America Gives’ initiative, members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints have helped deliver 6.5 million meals across all 50 states.

Service is one of the clearest ways we follow Him feeding, lifting, and loving God’s children in His name.

We’re grateful to be part of His work in blessing lives and strengthening communities.

President D. Todd Christofferson reminded us that religious liberty is not just a legal protection — it is a gift that allows people of many faiths to live together in peace.

We are thrilled to announce that Evelyn Phinney has been called to serve in the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission, Spanish speaking.

Evelyn spent 15 years in Utah before moving to Alabama, where she graduated from Andalusia High School and became a devoted member of the Andalusia Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints.

In a joyful moment at Girls Camp, Evelyn opened her mission call on Monday evening surrounded by the YCL's a night filled with excitement, support, and happy tears she will always remember.

Her favorite scripture is John 14:27, where the Savior promises, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.” She carries that assurance with her — the peace that does not come from the world, but from Christ Himself — as she prepares to serve with faith and courage.

With that promise in her heart, Evelyn is eager to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and love the people of Puerto Rico.
