Today we honor the righteous men of the Dothan Alabama Stake who quietly and faithfully lead, lift, and love.

The Family Proclamation teaches that fathers are to preside in love and righteousness, provide the necessities of life, and protect their families.

Thank you for living these truths with devotion. Your priesthood service, your steady example, and your Christlike influence strengthen homes, wards, and our entire stake.

Happy Father’s Day to every father, grandfather, and father‑figure who reflects the love of our Heavenly Father.

What a blessing to witness the Savior’s love in action.

As part of the America250 ‘America Gives’ initiative, members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints have helped deliver 6.5 million meals across all 50 states.

Service is one of the clearest ways we follow Him feeding, lifting, and loving God’s children in His name.

We’re grateful to be part of His work in blessing lives and strengthening communities.

We are thrilled to announce that Evelyn Phinney has been called to serve in the Puerto Rico San Juan Mission, Spanish speaking.

Evelyn spent 15 years in Utah before moving to Alabama, where she graduated from Andalusia High School and became a devoted member of the Andalusia Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints.

In a joyful moment at Girls Camp, Evelyn opened her mission call on Monday evening surrounded by the YCL's a night filled with excitement, support, and happy tears she will always remember.

Her favorite scripture is John 14:27, where the Savior promises, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.” She carries that assurance with her — the peace that does not come from the world, but from Christ Himself — as she prepares to serve with faith and courage.

With that promise in her heart, Evelyn is eager to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and love the people of Puerto Rico.

June 1–7. “My Heart Rejoiceth in the Lord”: Ruth; 1 Samuel 1–7

Something to Ponder as You Study This Week

Ruth and Hannah lived through detours they never asked for—loss, longing, uncertainty. Yet in those places, they chose faith. Ruth walked into an unknown future with the words, “Whither thou goest, I will go.” Hannah poured out her whole soul before the Lord and later rejoiced, “My heart rejoiceth in the Lord.”

Both women discovered that God was already working in the very places that felt empty.

Takeaway: Both Ruth and Hannah show that quiet, covenant‑rooted faith can move the Lord’s work forward in ways we don’t always see at first. Their stories invite us to look at our own unexpected paths and ask where the Lord is quietly shaping something holy.

Reflection question for the week:
Where is the Lord quietly working in the parts of my life that feel uncertain, delayed, or different than I expected?

The Prophet Joseph Smith taught that defending the rights of others is inseparable from defending our own.

“I am bold to declare before Heaven that I am just as ready to die in defending the rights of a Presbyterian, a Baptist, or a good man of any other denomination… It is a love of liberty which inspires my soul—civil and religious liberty to the whole of the human race.”

As we begin this series leading toward America’s 250th anniversary, may we remember that religious freedom is not only a civic blessing — it is a gospel principle rooted in agency, compassion, and Christlike respect for all of God’s children.

“The literal Resurrection of Jesus Christ is settled doctrine for believers of the Bible and Book of Mormon.” — President Dallin H. Oaks

Today we honor the men and women who gave their lives in defense of freedom.
Because of the Savior’s Resurrection, we know that death is not the end, and that those who have fallen in service to their country live on in Him.

The Book of Mormon teaches:
“The spirit and the body shall be reunited again… and we shall be brought to stand before God.” — Alma 11:43

On this Memorial Day, we remember with gratitude:
- Their courage
- Their sacrifice
- Their families who also bear the cost
- And the hope we have in Christ, who “will swallow up death in victory.”

May the families of the fallen feel the Lord’s peace today.
May we live with gratitude for the freedoms purchased at so great a cost.

We are grateful to share that Maggie Langford, who once called the Dothan Alabama Stake home, has received her call to serve in the Alaska Anchorage Mission. Many here remember her faith, kindness, and steady discipleship, and we rejoice with her as she begins this new chapter in the Lord’s work.

Maggie treasures the scripture Helaman 5:12, which teaches the power and protection that come from building our lives on the foundation of Jesus Christ. As she prepares to serve, that truth will guide and strengthen her in every step ahead.

We celebrate her willingness to serve and send our love and prayers with her as she goes forth in faith.
