🙏 PORTALS OF PRAYER — WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2026

📖 Isaiah 9:6–7 | Psalm 132:11–18

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

✨ Ha Shem — The Name

God calls us to lift up His holy name—not to put others down, but to let the truth and love of Christ shine for the world to see.

The name of Jesus is not merely a name. Scripture reveals who He is and what He has come to do. Isaiah points us toward the Savior as Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.

Each name reveals something about Jesus and His character. Throughout His ministry, Jesus demonstrated these promises as our Redeemer and Savior.

Because of who Jesus is and what He has done for us, we are called to honor and sanctify His name through our lives and everything we do.

Today, may our words, actions, and attitudes reflect the name of Jesus—not with shame, but with confidence, love, grace, and truth.

🙏 Prayer:
O Lord, help me today to sanctify Your holy name in all I do. May my words and actions reflect Your love and bring glory to Jesus. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

📖 1 Kings 8:1–4 | Psalm 86:8–13

“Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name.”

🚶‍♂️ Halakh b’Emet — Walking in Truth

It can be painful when our words or actions break someone’s trust. And if we’re honest, we all have moments when we wander from God’s truth.

The psalmist’s prayer is one we can make our own: “Teach me Your way.”

Walking in truth isn’t simply about knowing what is right. It means allowing God’s Word and the Holy Spirit to shape our thoughts, our words, and the way we treat others.

Our tongues can be used to encourage and bless—or to hurt and tear down. That’s why staying close to God matters. When we recognize that we’ve wandered, we can turn back to Him. God’s grace is greater than our failures.

Through His Word and the gifts He gives us, Christ strengthens us to continue walking in faith and truth.

🙏 Prayer:
Abba, Father, teach me to walk in truth through Your Holy Spirit. Guide my thoughts and words so that I may honor You and bless those around me. When I wander, draw me back to You and strengthen me in Your grace. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

🙏 PORTALS OF PRAYER — MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2026

📖 Matthew 22:1–10 | Psalm 39:12

“And those servants went out into the roads and gathered all whom they found, both bad and good. So the wedding hall was filled with guests.”

Have you ever been invited somewhere and decided not to go? Or invited others to celebrate with you and felt disappointed when they didn’t come?

Our world can sometimes encourage isolation, but God created us for community. We need one another, and God invites us into something even greater: His kingdom and His eternal celebration.

Jesus’ parable of the wedding feast reminds us that God’s invitation to salvation is extended broadly. His servants are sent out to share the Gospel and gather people in—“both bad and good.”

What beautiful news for us! We don’t enter God’s kingdom because we are perfect or because we have earned a place at the table. We are welcomed because of Christ. Through Jesus, we are clothed in His righteousness and invited to His eternal feast.

Today, consider who God may be calling you to welcome, encourage, or invite. Step outside your comfort zone and share the joy of Christ with others.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, thank You for inviting us into Your kingdom through Jesus Christ. Help us step outside our comfort zones, welcome others with love, and share the good news of Your grace. May our lives reflect the joy and peace You have given us. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

⛪️ Sunday Worship | Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church

Today we gather around God’s Word and the promise that Christ is present whenever we come together in faith.

📖 Today’s Readings

Ezekiel 33:7–11 — God calls us to be faithful watchmen, speaking truth and calling one another toward repentance and life. God does not desire anyone to perish, but calls us to turn back and live.

Psalm 119:33–40 — A prayer for understanding and guidance: “Teach me, O LORD, the way of your statutes.” We ask God to shape our hearts and lead us in His ways.

Romans 13:8–14 — Love is at the heart of Christian living. We are called to love our neighbors, walk in the light, and put on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 18:15–20 — Jesus teaches us how to deal with conflict, seek reconciliation, and care for one another within the community of faith. And when we gather in His name, Christ is there among us.

❤️ Today’s Reflection: Conflict Resolution

Church is made up of real people with different experiences, opinions, and struggles. Disagreement is not the end of community. Through courage, truth-telling, accountability, forgiveness, compassion, and prayer, conflict can become an opportunity to build a stronger community that reflects God’s love.

🙏 Let us pray for Dothan and the Wiregrass Area — our families, schools, churches, leaders, first responders, businesses, and neighbors. May God give our community wisdom, peace, healing, reconciliation, and the courage to love one another.

🕯️ Ner v’Or — Lamp and Light

Are we ready for the Lord’s return?

Jesus used the parable of the wise and foolish virgins to remind us about the importance of being prepared and keeping our lamps burning. In a world filled with darkness, distractions can easily pull our attention away from God and His Word.

But we have a source of light that never fails: God’s Word and Jesus Christ, the Light of the World.

The Holy Spirit guides those who belong to Christ through the challenges and uncertainties of this life. Because we have received the hope of salvation, we are also called to share that light with others—bringing the message of Christ, grace, mercy, and eternal life to those who are searching in the darkness.

🕯️ Let your light shine today.
Not because we have all the answers, but because we know the One who does.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, strengthen me today to be a shining light, illuminating the hope of Your salvation through Jesus. Help me follow Your Word, listen to Your Spirit, and share Your light with others. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

📖 Deuteronomy 31:10–11 | Psalm 119:97–103

“Oh how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.”
— Psalm 119:97

📖 Torah — The Law of God

God’s Word is more than a list of rules. His Law teaches us who He is, how He desires His people to live, and how we are to love Him and one another.

Israel was instructed to continually hear, remember, meditate on, and teach God’s Word to the next generation. Psalm 119 gives us a picture of someone who deeply loves God’s Law and treasures His instruction.

That gives us an important question for today:

Are we allowing God’s Word to shape the way we live, or are we simply living for ourselves?

When we draw close to Scripture, we are reminded of God’s incredible love for us. And ultimately, we see that Jesus came to fulfill the Law for us, accomplishing what we could never accomplish on our own.

Today, spend some time in God’s Word. Let it speak to your heart, strengthen your faith, and remind you of His great love.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, help me meditate on Your Law and receive the joy of Your salvation once again. Draw me closer to Your Word and guide my life according to Your will. Thank You for sending Jesus to fulfill the Law for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

📖 A Word for This Week

“I will very gladly spend for you everything I have and expend myself as well.”

— 2 Corinthians 12:15

Paul reminds us that Christian ministry is not about possessions—it is about people, love, and giving of ourselves to strengthen one another.

May God give us hearts that serve freely, love generously, and build one another up in faith. ❤️

🙏 THURSDAY REFLECTION | SEPTEMBER 3, 2026 🙏

📖 Deuteronomy 16:16 | Psalm 122:1–7

“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD!’”

⛰️ ALIYAH — “TO GO UP”

Three times each year, God’s people journeyed up to Jerusalem to worship, give thanks, bring their offerings, and celebrate God’s blessings.

They didn’t simply make a trip.

They went up with joy.

Today, we may not travel to Jerusalem or worship in the temple, but we still have the incredible gift of gathering together as the body of Christ.

We come to hear God’s Word.
We come to receive His gifts.
We come to the Lord’s Table.
We come to give thanks for Christ, who gave Himself for us.

So today, consider a simple question:

When you go to worship, are you going because you have to—or because you’re glad you get to?

Church is more than a weekly obligation. It is an opportunity to come together, receive God’s grace, give thanks, and rejoice in what He has done.

💙 “I was glad…”

May we carry that joy with us—not only on Sunday, but every day.

🙏 PRAYER

Lord, thank You for Your gifts, Your grace, Your mercy, and Your promises. Help us to approach worship with grateful hearts and genuine joy. Remind us of all You have done for us through Jesus Christ. May we always be glad to come into Your presence. Amen.

Rejoice greatly today! Count your blessings and give thanks. 🙏

📖 Leviticus 23:33–36 | Psalm 16:7–11

“You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”

🛤️ Orach Hachi’im — The Path of Life

Life can sometimes feel like driving down an unfamiliar road without knowing exactly where to turn. We can become distracted, take wrong turns, or simply lose our sense of direction.

Thankfully, God has not left us without guidance.

Through His Word and the work of the Holy Spirit, God directs our lives and calls us back when we wander. We don’t always know what lies around the next corner, but we can trust the One who knows the entire journey.

And our greatest comfort is this: Jesus has already walked the path before us. Through His death and resurrection, He has opened the way to forgiveness, salvation, and eternal life with Him.

Today, wherever your path leads, listen for God’s guidance, trust His direction, and remember that you never walk alone.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, help me clearly hear Your guiding voice on life’s winding roads. When I become distracted or lose my way, lead me back to You. Strengthen my faith and help me trust Your direction each day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

🕊️ Ktzav Hachi’im — The Rhythm of Life

It is easy to get out of rhythm with God. The constant demands of life, troubling news, suffering, and the struggles we see around us can leave our spirits weary and unsettled.

But God does not call us to walk through life alone.

Through His Word, the seasons of the Church Year, and the rhythms of worship and community, God continually draws us back to Himself. These reminders point us to His work throughout history—and especially to Jesus Christ, our Savior.

When life feels overwhelming, we can pause, refocus, and remember whose we are. God invites us to live in community, grow in faith, care for one another, and serve Him with joy.

Today, let us step back into God’s rhythm. Lift up the cup of salvation. Call upon the Lord. Let Him renew your spirit.

🙏 Prayer:
Lord, I come to You today asking for Your guidance and for growth in my walk with You. Renew my spirit, strengthen my faith, and help me live in Your rhythm rather than being consumed by the distractions around me. Help me serve You and others with gladness. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

💙 Today’s reminder:
When life gets out of rhythm, return to God. Pause. Pray. Worship. Serve. Let Him renew your spirit.
