🌞 Summer Reflection: Vacation Bible School Memories 🌞

As summer begins, many of us remember the joy of Vacation Bible School (VBS).

Maybe it was singing songs with motions, making crafts, enjoying snacks, learning Bible stories, or making new friends. For some, VBS was where we first learned that Jesus loves us and walks with us every day.

Those childhood memories often stay with us for a lifetime. The lessons we learned about God’s love, forgiveness, and grace continue to shape our faith journey as adults.

This summer, take a moment to reflect:

✝️ What is your favorite Vacation Bible School memory?

📖 What Bible story made the biggest impact on your life?

🙏 How has God remained faithful to you since those childhood days?

As we remember the faith that was planted in us, may we also find ways to share that same love and hope with a new generation of children.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

Today at Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, we celebrated Holy Trinity Sunday and reflected on the mystery and majesty of our Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

In Genesis 1:1–2:4a, we witnessed God’s creative power as He spoke the universe into existence and declared it “very good.” In Psalm 8, we marveled at the greatness of God’s name in all the earth and His care for humanity.

In 2 Corinthians 13:11–13, we were reminded to rejoice, seek restoration, live in peace, and trust in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.

In Matthew 28:16–20, Jesus gave the Great Commission, sending His disciples into the world to make disciples of all nations and assuring them—and us—of His promise: “I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

As we begin a new week, may we live as people created by God, redeemed by Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit. May we share God’s love with others and confidently follow where Christ leads.

Blessings from Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, Dothan, Alabama.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Today we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy every day, and their courage will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day weekend, may we also take time to reflect, honor, and pray for those who paid the ultimate price for liberty.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

May God bless the families of the fallen, our military members, veterans, and the United States of America.

Today’s Worship — Day of Pentecost 🔥🕊️

Today we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit — God’s presence that empowers, comforts, and unites His people.

📖 Today’s Readings:
• Acts 2:1–21
• Psalm 104:24–34;35b
• 1 Corinthians 12:3b–13
• Gospel: John 14:15–21

Jesus said:
“If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.” — John 14:15–16

On this Pentecost Sunday, we remember that the Holy Spirit fills our hearts with courage, peace, wisdom, and love. Though we are many people with different gifts, we are united as one body in Christ.

As we reflect during Memorial Day weekend, we also pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We give thanks for their sacrifice and pray for peace, comfort, and hope for their families.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Come, Holy Spirit!
Fill our hearts. Strengthen our faith. Send us out to serve in love and unity.

Let’s begin with a discussion on why going to church is important and how it helps our relationship with God. ⛪✨

Our relationship with God grows when we spend time with Him — through worship, prayer, Scripture, and fellowship with other believers. Church gives us a place to do all of those things together.

📖 We hear and learn God’s Word
🙏 We pray together and encourage one another
❤️ We are reminded that we are not alone in our faith journey
⛪ Worship helps refocus our hearts on Christ instead of the worries of the world

Faith was never meant to be lived alone. God created the church as a community where we can grow spiritually, support one another, and deepen our walk with Him.

Even when life gets busy, making time for worship can strengthen our faith, renew our hearts, and bring us closer to God.

“Let us not give up meeting together… but encourage one another.” — Hebrews 10:25

Reflecting on today’s worship service on this 7th Sunday of Easter ✨

Today’s readings reminded us that even in times of waiting, suffering, and uncertainty, God remains powerful, present, and faithful.

📖 Acts 1:6–14
Jesus ascends into heaven and promises power through the Holy Spirit. The disciples gather together in prayer and unity as they wait faithfully.

📖 Psalm 68:1–10, 32–35
“Sing to God!”
The Lord is majestic, mighty, and worthy of all praise. He strengthens His people and provides for those in need.

📖 1 Peter 4:12–14; 5:6–11
Even through trials and suffering, God cares for us. We are called to stay humble, stand firm in faith, resist fear, and trust that God will restore and strengthen us.

📖 Gospel: John 17:1–11
Jesus prays for His followers — that we may know eternal life, remain protected, and be united as one in Him.

🙏 Today we remember:
• Jesus prays for us
• God gives strength during trials
• The Holy Spirit empowers believers
• We are called to unity, faith, and praise

“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

He is with us. Even now.

Today on this Sixth Sunday of Easter, we were reminded that God does not abandon His people.
In Acts of the Apostles, Paul boldly proclaimed the “unknown God” who created all things and gives life to all.
In Psalms 66:8–20, we praised the God who listens to prayer and preserves our lives.
In First Epistle of Peter, we were encouraged to stand firm in faith with gentleness and hope.
And in the Gospel of Gospel of John 14:15–21, Jesus promises:

“I will not leave you orphaned.”

Christ is still present with His Church through the Holy Spirit — guiding, comforting, and strengthening us in every season of life.

May we leave worship today remembering:

* God hears our prayers
* Jesus remains with us
* The Holy Spirit leads us in truth and love

✝️ Fourth Sunday of Easter – Worship Reflection ✝️

Today at Triumph Cross Lutheran Church, we gathered in worship to hear the powerful words of John 10:1–10 — where Jesus reminds us:

“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved… I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

What a promise to carry with us into the week ahead. In a world full of noise and uncertainty, Christ calls us to recognize His voice, trust His leading, and walk in the abundant life He gives.

🙏 Thank you to everyone who joined us in worship today. Whether you were in the pews or joining in spirit, you are part of this church family.

➡️ Take a moment today to reflect:
Are we listening for the Shepherd’s voice?
Are we walking in the life He freely gives?
