William Edward “Ed” Suggs, a resident of Kinsey, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family, Wednesday night, August 26, 2026, at his home. He was 84,

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 31, 2026, in Northside Assembly of God with Pastor Ricky Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday in the church sanctuary. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in the Shorterville Baptist Church Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Northside Assembly of God, 645 Roney Road, Dothan, AL 36303.

Mr. Suggs was born and raised in Eufaula, son of the late Jack Suggs and Atranter Strickland Suggs. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mr. Suggs lived in various locations while serving in the military and also lived in Clayton before moving to Kinsey. He was formerly employed by American Buildings Company in Eufaula as a Supervisor and Truck Driver. In later years, Mr. Suggs was employed by Boyd Brothers Trucking Company of Clayton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Edna Crapps, a grandson, Wayne Tye, sisters, Barbara Jean Suggs, Frances Burns and Dorothy Hamilton, and a brother, David Suggs.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Mary Tye Suggs; a son, Greg Suggs (Kim), Phoenix, AZ; a daughter, Dorothy Ruth Tye, Hartford; a step-son, Jason McSwain (Melissa), Kinsey; a brother, Johnny Suggs (Olga), Eufaula; grandchildren, Josh Tye (Carrie), Greg Suggs (April), Christopher Suggs (Alisha), Jake Suggs (Meagan), Sean Suggs (Julie Woods), Angel Carter (Roy), Crystal Brown, Cliff Crapps (Mallory), Breana Ingalls (John); nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Josh Tye, Greg Suggs, Sean Suggs, Jason McSwain, Matthew Monday and Marcus Tye.

HOLMAN-HEADLAND MORTUARY & CREMATIONS IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS. Phone 334-693-3371. You may sign a guest register at www.holmanmortuaries.com. This establishment does not own a crematory.
