Pastor Dana and Deacon Karen had the honor of attending the official Dorchester Day Parade Banquet and Dinner on Thursday, June 4, 2026. The evening celebrated the 2026 Chief Marshal and recognized outstanding community members for their dedication, service, and impact. We are grateful to be part of a community that continues to uplift and honor those making a difference.

Yesterday, we had the honor of attending the TABCOM Conference, where we celebrated a very special milestone for our own Pastor Dana. He was recognized and presented with a certificate in honor of his 10th Ordination Anniversary—a meaningful moment celebrating his years of faithful service and leadership.

We were also blessed by the beautiful sounds of our Bell Choir, whose performance added such a special touch to the occasion.

Please join us in congratulating Pastor Dana on this incredible milestone! 💙✨

A powerful moment from last week at the State House: First Baptist Church of Dorchester presenting NECAT with a check to support their mission and ongoing work!

Moments like these remind us what community, partnership, and purpose really look like; alongside leaders like Nick Collins.

What happens after Easter? ✝️

The resurrection isn’t the end of the story, it’s the beginning of the journey. In Acts 14–22, we see what comes next: faith that is tested, perseverance through trials, and a commitment to continue spreading the Word no matter the obstacles.

The early church didn’t have it easy, but they stayed rooted, encouraged one another, and kept moving forward with purpose. That same calling lives in us today.

Thank you, Rev. Tennelle Woods, for reminding us that after the celebration comes the calling; and we are all equipped to keep going.

Hosanna in the highest! 🌿

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday; the beginning of Holy Week and a reminder of Jesus’ humble entry, unwavering love, and the promise of what’s to come.

This morning’s message, “Victory in Jesus,” from John 12:12–16, reminded us that even in moments we don’t fully understand, God’s plan is already in motion.

We take a moment to lift up a prayer for our church, our friends and families, our community, and the world. We ask for peace, healing, and continued grace. 💛

As we move through Holy Week, may our hearts remain open and anchored in His victory.

❄️ Service Update – Sunday, January 25 ❄️

Due to the incoming snowstorm and out of concern for the safety of our church family, in-person worship at First Baptist Church, Dorchester is canceled for tomorrow, Sunday, January 25.

While we love gathering together, your safety comes first. Even when we’re apart, we trust that God is with us and among us. Please stay off the roads, stay warm, and take care of one another.

In the spirit of our Beloved Community, we encourage everyone to:
🤍 Check in on at least two fellow members, especially seniors or those living alone
🤍 Reach out if you or someone you know needs assistance
🤍 Contact Pastor Dana for urgent needs or prayer requests

Let’s use this time to rest, pray, and be good neighbors—even from a distance. We look forward to worshiping together again once conditions improve.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Stay safe and be blessed 💙

At First Baptist Church Dorchester, today’s service centered on renewal, faith, and fresh beginnings.

Today’s sermon, “A New You for a New Year,” reminded us that as we step into a new season, we’re called to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). It was a timely reminder that growth often requires trust, obedience, and the courage to move forward, even when the path isn’t fully clear.

During service, Dr. Rev. Dana Gonsal led a meaningful moment of prayer, grounding us in reflection and intention as we step into the year ahead with faith and purpose.

As we prepare to close one year and step into the next, we invite you to join us for our Watch Night Service tonight at 11pm. ✨

Whether you’re worshipping with us in person or joining online via Zoom, we’ll take time to reflect, pray, and welcome 2026 together in faith and community. Invite your family and friends to share in this sacred moment. If joining virtually, please log in a few minutes early so we can begin right on time. We look forward to ringing in the New Year with you!

Today, Rev. Tenelle Woods delivered a powerful and timely sermon titled “The God of the Valley,” drawn from Psalm 23:1–6. Through this message, we were reminded that God is not only present in our moments of joy and victory, but also walks closely with us through the valleys of life. Even in seasons of uncertainty, struggle, or fear, God remains our shepherd. He is guiding us, comforting us, and providing all that we need. May this word encourage us to trust God’s presence, protection, and promises, no matter where our journey takes us. 🙏🏽
