Joy in Serving, Training, & Teaching
Ever wonder what happens in nursery at LBC? Lots of things! There are always two of us watching, teaching, training, engaging, and enjoying the time with the precious children the Lord has blessed our church family.

It is not only a joy to watch, engage, teach, and train the children through age 3, but us mommas get a double joy of serving with, training and modeling, and teaching the teen young ladies how to watch, care, engage, train, teach, and enjoy the children. We get a double bonus of watching both the children and the teens progress in skill, knowledge, and Christ-likedness!

On this particular Worship Service Nursery morning, one of our teen ladies was patiently teaching, engaging, challenging, and enjoying the time with this youngster. Observing made my heart happy, and I can only imagine such a moment was also pleasing to Our Heavenly Father. It is a joy to serve the Lord!

I’ll praise when I don’t understand the plans God has for me. And when the waiting feels too long, He says “Trust in Me.” Trying not to lose my faith in the One Who gives me strength.
And He said, “Come to Me, Rest and see my yoke is easy. My burden’s light, for I carry all the world. And when you’re lost in the dark, and you feel hopeless, I am the Light and I’ll guide you all the way. You are my child, so rest in Me and wait.”

I long to hear His voice again, but underneath the doubt, the silence is discouraging, it makes my heart cry out. Will You keep Your promises? Do You hear my prayer, Oh Lord?

🛶 Paddle The River was a blessing! 🛶

So thankful for the many youth that were able to join us to ‘Paddle The River’ today! So thankful for the LBC adults who served to make this adventure run smoothly. And most thankful for Our Good & Great God who provided such a beautiful day, stayed with us in the midst, and safety throughout!

During lunch, Pastor Titus provided the devotion reminding the we are in a battle whether we realize it or not. The spiritual battle has two sides. Whose side are you on? The Lord’s side or Satan’s side? If you are on the Lord’s side, are you prepared? Do you prepare daily for Him? He will see you through, but your daily preparation will make a difference. How is your preparation going?

On the river, many new things were learned. Everyone enjoyed the adventure. However, each one in the canoe or kayak had different struggles. Some were individually in the kayak while others were two by two. Many were able to join to enjoy riding together in groups side by side. Other times one by one. Several were able to maneuver to assist if someone got stuck and needed help. Those lilies were tough! Daily battles, similar to the lilies, will come. How will you prepare? How will you be ready? Who do you seek for strength to endure and carry the weight with you?

Such a glorious day with fun, fellowship, food, adventure and challenge, and a great devotion to ponder!

Joshua 24:15 …but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
