"Love Thy Neighbor” in Action
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at Holy Rosary was blessed to partner recently with Mechanics on a Mission and the Harpeth Car Club at Traffic Jam, a special community event held at the iconic Loveless Cafe. While the morning was filled with beautiful cars, live music, and fellowship, the true purpose of the gathering was to serve our neighbors in need.
Mechanics on a Mission, a Middle Tennessee nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families through free auto repairs, practical guidance, and donated vehicles, celebrated a remarkable milestone at the event—the gifting of their 250th car.
Through our Holy Rosary St. Vincent de Paul conference and a grant they received, they were honored to help identify and support a local mother of three as the recipient of this life-changing gift. Reliable transportation can make an enormous difference for a family, providing access to work, school, medical care, and greater stability.
This partnership is a beautiful example of our Christian calling to live out the Gospel through service. As we are reminded in Scripture, “Let us love, not in word or speech, but in truth and action” (1 John 3:18). We are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside organizations that so powerfully embody Christ’s love and compassion.
