Please put green waste in Blue Barrels by the utility shed and not in the Black Barrels throughout the cemetery. There is no reason to be sending dead plants, dirt, grass and leaves to our landfill. Another reason is that I can not lift the barrels when they get full of wet, dead material. A third reason is that we are losing our dumpster. I do not know how long we will be able to provide trash pick up. I would greatly appreciate your cooperation.

Soon, we will be planting flowers at the cemetery. Deer and wood chucks are prevalent. It is so sad to see newly planted flowers chewed down to the ground in just a few days from planting. Geraniums do well and are drought tolerant between rains. Dusty miller looks nice with them and with other colorful flowers. Basically, anything that has a rough texture or strong scent will keep deer away. You might consider some perennials, such as Lambs ear, coneflowers, Iris's, Salvias, cat mint, bee balm. Just be sure to mark them in some way so that our grass cutters do not destroy them (a small border). Other annuals: sweet alyssum, petunias, snapdragons, calendulas, heliotropes. Happy planting, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Please note: shrubs are not allowed; they get overgrown quickly and are hard for our maintenance mowers to navigate around and they cover up the monuments. I do remove dead flowers and plants when they become unsightly.
