This came to me from Ron Luce of Aquire the Fire whom many of you will remember. Sounds like a good opportunity.
A fresh cup of cold water in the desert! That is what the Gospel is designed to be for each one of us!
Too often our Christianity has devolved into a long list of dos and don’ts thought much refreshment or life oozing out of the message into our daily lives.
I have found that Grace is the Ooze…. I found that walking as a disciple (not just a convert) enables the power of that grease to fill moments of my life all day long. Let me explain….
Remember the great commission was to make disciples…not make converts. The problem with making converts is it usually only produces people who are managing their sin and asking forgiveness, constantly carrying a heavy burden. However, Jesus came to bring Transformation not behavior modification.
He cares about fundamentally changing the inside of us, and this can only be done through discipleship.
As I have traveled these past few years around the world, I discovered churches that are exceptional at producing live-giving disciples and would love to share some of the freedom I have learned.
First, let us define it; discipleship is not the four classes you take after you prayer a prayer of salvation. Here is a definition I think helps to get to understanding:

I have discovered there are verbs, actions and activities that make being a disciple come alive. Here are a few habits of a disciple that can fill your life with the heavenly grace we all crave.
FOLLOWING
When we look carefully at what Jesus said how to get connected to h
is father, repeatedly (32 times in the gospels) He said, “follow me.” The indication is to follow his teachings, his lifestyle, his attitude. Follow Him.
The question for us today is, “How do you follow a guy you cannot see with your eyes?” Well, how do you follow a band or a sports team that you have never met personally? You learn their lyrics, their stats their background. There are so many proud followers of teams and bands who have never met them personally but know every lyric and every piece of data about their team.
What if we followed Jesu
s like that? Our choice when we become a Christian is not simply to ask forgiveness to get to heaven, but to become a follower on the path of Christ. That is who he invited us to, and the first step is only the first step on a lifelong pursuit of following him
and getting to know him and his heart!

SEEKING
A second habit of a disciple is seeking “First the kingdom of God” (Matt 6:33). Jesus gave very few commands, and this is very import to note. He wants people to seek him. He wants to be wanted.
Think about that las time you lost your key to your car. How desperate were you to find it? How urgent were you to get your hands on that key? You looked for it every single place working yourself into a frenzy!
What if we sought God’s kingdom like that? What if daily we were always on the lookout asking, “Where is God moving in their conversation, in the room, in the meeting? What does he want to say to me or thought me? How does he want to intervene?”
Just like any relationship, the lord wants to know He is wanted in any situation. He will not force himself into a relationship. Its not enough to just wanted him when we first give our life to him, but just like a wife constantly wants to know her husband wants her, He wants to be constantly sought by us. This is the only foundation for a relationship. It is the initiation of trust in any relationship.
TRANSFORMING
God is in the transforming business. It is simply not the moment we come to C
hrist, but ongoing. We have all heard, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Heb 12:1) So it is a commend but we cannot transform ourselves.
The grace to live each day becomes and explosion of energy and freedom when we activate it. We need more grace to live each day. WE burn it like a 747 burns jet fuel. The root world for grace is DUNAMIS which is of course where we get our word dynamite! Grace is dynamite in our soul.
When God activates His DUNAMIS in us, He transforms us and makes un into the kind of person who naturally does the right thing, rather than simply modifying our behavior, he changes the inside of us!
So how do we activate this? One simple, just one, small act of obedience, (for example let your yet be yes, and your no be no.” () Just do what you say. Be on time. Pray for someone when you say you will. When you do even the smallest act of obedience, you light a fuse of grace. The fuse might be an inch or a mile long, but it does not matter. It will inevitably result in exploding DUNAMIS in your life! Transformation will happen! Grace explodes everywhere and oozes out of your life bringing freedom to all who know you! Just try it today!
