Where were you 25 years ago when you first heard that a plane had struck the Twin Towers?

For many of us, the memories of September 11, 2001 remain vivid. Today we pause to remember the lives lost, the families who still carry that grief, and the first responders and ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage and compassion.

May God guard your heart today.

Let us pray: Gracious God, comfort all who still grieve, heal the wounds that remain, and guard us from hatred and division. Make us people of peace, justice, mercy, and love. May your light continue to shine in the darkness. Amen.

When we gather for worship, prayer, study, or service, we’re reminded that we don’t walk this journey alone. Together, we strengthen one another and experience Christ’s presence in powerful ways.

John Wesley considered the gathering for reflection, prayer and learning to be a "means of grace"--vital practices we engage in every day in order to deepen our relationship with God, live out the teachings of Christ and allow the Holy Spirit to grant us renewed hope and strength in our spiritual journey.

Loving God,

We pray that this new school year will be filled with your grace and love for all our children. As they begin a new year of learning, growth, and new experiences, guide them each day and help them know your presence with them.

We pray that their vision, dreams, and purpose in life may be shaped according to your will. Help them discover the gifts you have given them and use those gifts with joy, wisdom, and compassion. Please watch over our children and keep them safe as they travel to and from school and throughout each day. Surround them with caring teachers, good friends, and supportive communities. May this new school year be filled with joy, hope, and meaningful opportunities to learn and grow.

We also pray for their teachers, school staff, administrators, and bus drivers. Bless them with good health, patience, wisdom, and strength. Keep them safe as they care for and serve our children each day.

May our schools be places of kindness, respect, encouragement, and peace, and may everyone in our school communities grow together in love and understanding.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

"Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law." - Romans 13:8

Scripture often reminds us that love should be at the center of our actions. We are to be a people rooted in love.

And so we pray that, at the core of our being, we are grounded in God's love.

"Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them." 📖 Matthew 18:19-20

Jesus noted that heaven is enacted in the midst of community. When we connect with one another for mutual support, care, and accountability, we encounter a bit of God's desired connect for all people. We uplift one another.

Thank you to John, Lois, Lucy, Gordon, Stephanie. And special thanks to our "rock stars" Gordon and Stephanie who moved countless loads of rocks from all over the garden to the rock pile, especially all of the rocks underneath the bean trellis

Today we delivered 44 lbs of veggies :
10 # beans,
3.5 # cherry tomatoes,
2.5 # eggplant cucumber & squash,
1 # kale,
20 # tomatoes, 3 # radishes,
4 # peppers

How are you giving thanks today?

"Now Thank We All Our God", number 102 in The United Methodist Hymnal, invites us to consider what we have received from God, and how we might proclaim our gratitude. Surprisingly, the words for the hymn were written amidst struggle and want, as Martin Rinckart and his family were refugees during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648).
