Thoughts from pastor Joe. As we continue our survey of the book of Revelation, I'm constantly reminded of the power and compassion of Christ when it comes to his church. I'm also reminded that the time's are moving towards a climax as we know it. Not that I am trying to set that time, because we are told in the Scripture that date is only known by the Father, Mt. 24:36. But we are advised to be watchful, Mt. 24:42. We're also are told about the rewards that come to those who overcome and stand firm to the end, Revelation. 2:7; 2:11; 2:17; 2:26-29; 3:5; 3:11-12; and even the lukewarm church of Laodicea, 3:21. Paul says all who stay steadfast with Christ are more than conquerors, Ro. 8:37. Therefore, let's stand firm and secure in Jesus, and run our race in life with full intent to win the prize that God has called us heaverward in Christ Jesus, Phil. 3:14. May all of you have a truly blessed and safe holiday this weekend, and I hope to see all of you in church next week.

Thoughts from pastor Joe. Having not lived in this area for years, I struggle to find my way to certain locations. Therefore, I rely on my GPS constantly. However, what I've noticed about the directions provided is almost always this, I'm told to follow major highway routes. But, it seems on many occasions, the provided route has many diversions. Road closings, traffic slow downs due to accidents, or construction zones. But what I've also noticed is if you divert from the first route, the device will recalculate and find a different direction, often taking less time because you have avoided all the obstacles. But isn't that true in our path toward Christ likeness? The Bible says the road to destruction is wide and full of pitfalls and distractions, and that path has many travelers. But it also says, the path to eternal life is narrow and only a few even find it. Might it be better to get off of the fast road, with it's many distractions and diversions, and seek a slower, more pleasant way. If driving across country on the major highways, you might miss many pleasant attractions, but if you take the byways instead, you will most likely see the Glory of God all around. Take the narrow, slow path to heaven, rather than the fast highway to hell. Be blessed my friends.

Thoughts from pastor Joe. If you're looking for a perfect church, you may have a difficult time finding one, at least finding the one that fits the definition of perfect. Because churches are made up of imperfect people who fail daily but refuse to remain in that state. The Bible says in Proverbs 24:16, that "a righteous man falls seven times but he rises again." Therefore, the perfect church is most likely made up of people who stumble daily, but keep getting up and pressing on to become perfect like their heavenly father. But listen to the rest of Proverbs 24:16; "but the wicked are brought down by calamity." In other words, the sinner falls and chooses to remain in his failures. I heard a very wise and true statement once, it says this; "a loser looks at what he is going through and determines it's not worth the effort, but a winner looks at what he is going toward, and presses on with vigor and excitement." And isn't that what Paul says in Phil. 3:14? So, if you're looking for a church that will assist you on your journey to your perfection in Christ, come join some imperfect people at the West Windsor church who stumble but continue to get back up and press on. May the Lord of continued chances bless you abundantly.

Thoughts from Pastor Joe. Sometimes the most valuable treasures are hidden in plain sight. A great wealth of this sort of information often lies in open view on the shelves or tables of our homes. What is it, you may ask? It’s called the Word of God and if searched, studied and practiced diligently and frequently, can reveal the secrets of a great life and the promise of an eternity of peace. Read the Bible!
