After nearly 20 years of service, today we share our final farewell. With grateful hearts, we reflect on all we’ve accomplished together — empowering over 300 local churches in southern Africa to bring hope and care to over 20,000 orphaned and vulnerable children.

This screenshot captures our last staff meeting, though some incredible team members were still in the field, making final disbursements to our local church partners. Even in our closing days, we remain committed to the mission that brought us all together.

Thank you to past staff members, boards, donors, partners, and friends who joined us on this journey. Your generosity, prayers, and love have made a lasting impact. While this is the end of Forgotten Voices, the seeds you’ve helped plant will continue to grow in the lives of children and families across southern Africa.

May the legacy of hope we built together continue to shine brightly.

After nearly 20 years of service, the Board of Directors of Forgotten Voices International has made the difficult decision to close operations in the United States as of August 31st, 2024. This decision comes after careful consideration of our financial and operational realities, and it marks the conclusion of our direct work supporting orphaned and vulnerable children in southern Africa.

While Forgotten Voices will conclude its operations in funding and supervising the work in southern Africa directly, we are excited that the vital work we have supported will continue through newly established, independent organizations.

During this time we want to recognize the contributions of our donors, staff, boards, volunteers, and church partners, networking partners, who have played a critical role in advancing our mission over the years.

As we close this chapter, we celebrate the countless lives touched and express our deepest gratitude to every donor, volunteer, and partner who has journeyed with us. This isn’t just our story—it’s yours too.

We are grateful for your continued support and prayers during this transition.

💰 69 caregivers learned new financial skills through trainings co-facilitated with Messiah University’s Economic Empowerment team!

🧵 Catharine is using the skills she learned at tailoring school to better meet her daughter’s needs!

📖 521 children received an education with their school fees, uniforms, books and other supplies paid for!

Years ago, Lovemore lost his wife, his job and saw his house catch fire, losing all of their furniture and possessions inside. Despite these and other challenges, Lovemore works diligently to provide for his two children, grandchild and his late brother’s son.

Lovemore is setting a great example for his children to follow and is demonstrating God’s love. He inspires us!

Despite facing constant challenges last year, our teams and church partners have shown that there is still a lot worth celebrating! Here are a few highlights from Zimbabwe that show the impact you have had:

✝️ In partnership with One Hope, caregivers and church leaders received Christian discipleship materials and learned how best to share the Word of God with children!

💰 403 caregivers participated in Community Savings Groups to help them effectively meet their children's needs!

🦽 Lidia was empowered with a wheelchair which greatly improved her mobility and confidence. She now attends church with her children and participates in skills training workshops!
