🎉 Awana Kickoff Night – Sunday, September 13th at 5:00 PM! 🎉

We're excited to start another Awana year at Mount Calvary Baptist Church! To celebrate, we're having a Kickoff Night full of fun for the whole family—jump houses, food, ice cream, and games for the kids. 🍦🎈

📅 When: Sunday, September 13th, 2026
🕔 Time: 5:00 PM
📍 Where: Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 405 Mount Calvary Road, Dillon, SC

Awana is for children ages 2 through 6th grade and meets every Sunday evening from 5–7 PM. Each week kids enjoy:

✅ A Bible lesson and verse memorization (spiritual food)
✅ Snacks and fellowship (physical food)
✅ Fun games that build teamwork and friendships
✅ Encouragement from caring leaders who point them to Jesus

Awana is more than just a program—it's a place where kids can grow in their faith, hide God's Word in their hearts, and have fun in the process.

✨ Kickoff Night is also a great chance for parents to meet the Awana team, ask questions, and get registered.

We'd love for you and your family to join us. Mark your calendar, invite a friend, and come ready for a great night together!

Daily Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being my refuge, my strength, and my defender. When I am afraid, help me trust You. When I am burdened, help me surrender it to You. When I am hurt or discouraged, remind me that You are close and that I am never alone.
Forgive me for the times I try to handle everything on my own. Help me rest in Your promises and follow Your direction. Give me strength for today's challenges, peace in my heart, and faith to believe that You are working even when I cannot see it.
I place my worries, my battles, and my future in Your hands. Help me be strong and take heart because my hope is in You.

In Jesus' name,
Amen!

Psalms 31–35 Devotional

“Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.” — Psalm 31:24

Psalms 31–35 remind us that God is our refuge, defender, and faithful provider. When we feel afraid, overwhelmed, or mistreated, we can place our lives completely in His hands.

Psalm 31 teaches us to trust God even when we cannot see the way forward. Psalm 32 reminds us of the freedom that comes through forgiveness. Psalm 33 calls us to praise God because His Word is trustworthy and His plans are good. Psalm 34 encourages us to seek Him in difficult times—“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” And Psalm 35 reminds us that we don't have to fight every battle ourselves; God sees injustice and is able to defend His children.

Today, choose trust over worry. Give God the situation you cannot control, the burden you cannot carry, and the battle you cannot win. He is faithful, He hears you, and He is near.

Daily Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being my strength, my shield, and my refuge. Help me to trust You when life is difficult and to keep my heart focused on You. When I am afraid, give me courage. When I am hurting, give me comfort. Help me remember that my difficult season will not last forever and that You are always working for my good. Turn my sorrow into joy and help me praise You in every season.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen!

Psalms 26–30 Devotional

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.” — Psalm 28:7

Psalms 26–30 remind us that God is our refuge, our strength, and our reason to rejoice. David speaks honestly about difficult circumstances, yet he continually chooses to trust God.

When you feel surrounded by trouble, stand firm in what you know about God. When you are hurting, bring your heart honestly to Him. And when God brings you through the storm, remember to praise Him.

Psalm 30:5 gives us a beautiful reminder: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Difficult seasons do not last forever. God can turn our mourning into dancing and our sorrow into joy.

Today’s encouragement:
Keep trusting God even when you cannot see what He is doing. The same God who carries you through the night will meet you with joy in the morning.
