Everyone, I want to give you an update about what’s happening at Briscoe and let you know how you can be praying for and ministering to our brothers-in-white. As you know volunteers are still not allowed on the unit and neither are visitors such as friends and family members of offenders. However, that does not prevent us from ministering to these men through our prayers and letters.

Continue to pray for our brothers-in-white. Ask Holy Spirit to help you in this, to pray for these men according to God’s will. Ask God to show you how to pray for them and then follow Him as He prompts your heart and mind.

Prayers are powerful!! 42 men experienced Gods love like never before. Eyes were opened and God was revealed. They explained that with all the love and compassion they received they had no more reasons not to believe. These men let go of past hurts, found forgiveness and learned to forgive others. Desolation and despair was replaced with hope and peace. Many are now committed to live for God and bring others to new life in Christ. They described it as earthshaking and heart changing. KAIROS – Briscoe #21 concluded yesterday afternoon. We hosted 40 men who arrived full of anger and hate. They didn’t know God, they were lonely, and they were confused. We witnessed a transformation in these men as they received unconditional love from the volunteers and from those who were praying for them from the greater free-world Christian community. Through the expression of unconditional love these men discovered the Truth and an understanding of the love and forgiveness of Jesus. As a result, men were able to accept God’s forgiveness and let go of their hate and anger. We witnessed men drop their gang colors and surrender to a life in Christ. Please continue to pray for these men, for their protection from acts of retribution, for strength as they live for Christ, and most of all for these men to be the Light in a world of darkness helping others find their way to Salvation found in Christ.

Kairos – Briscoe #20 was an awesomely blessed experience! We hosted 42 men with whom we shared the love of God and explained that God wants a relationship with them and He wants them to be reconciled back to Him. Our speakers had tremendously moving testimonies and our worship was inspirational beyond words. The enemy was active against the team attempting to hinder God’s work; especially early on Saturday morning. The team was not deterred; we persevered and followed through on our mission. As a result, many men gave themselves to Christ including several pagans who surrendered to Christ. One practicing Satanist gave his life to Christ and then led 3 others to Christ from his cell that night. Prayer is by far the most important aspect of this ministry. Thanks for all of you who prayed and continue to pray. God is good…

The KAIROS B-18 weekend was awesome!!! The truth of the Gospel was spoken, the Holy Spirit was active, and many men surrendered to Christ. We hosted several gang leaders, many hard-cases, pagans, muslins, atheists, etc. this weekend and all were overwhelmed by your prayers and the love of Christ. God is doing mighty works within the prison and lives are being transformed through the love of Christ. Your active prayers will continue to be a blessing and a source of hope to all these men. God bless…

Kairos Prison Ministry International just completed its 39th Annual Conference in Ft Worth, TX. Kairos of Texas hosted the event and was well represented. God is doing amazing things with this ministry: we are active in 35 U.S. states plus 9 additional countries. Also we have completed 55 #1 weekends during 2014 and 2015…WOW!!! God is good…!

All the Committee Meetings and Workshops were fabulous and full of valuable information. Great discussions and valuable experience was shared. This was the most organized and valuable conference to date. Thanks to the leadership and contributions of too many to name.

Highlights:
Vance L. Drum - Director of Chaplaincy of TDCJ shared the importance of Kairos in the state of Texas. This ministry is active in 45 units and TDCJ is requesting our involvement in more units. He discussed the success of volunteer programs, faith-based-dorms, and re-entry programs. Texas has a 23% recidivism rate; the lowest in the country! As a result other states are now reaching out to Texas for assistance to reform their correctional policies.
Cleve Bell one of the original 9 who founded Kairos. Delivered a lively and dynamic discussion of the beginning days of the ministry. He told humorous stories of the early days and shared insights into the spirits of the other founders. He closed by leading 300+ attendees in singing “Father Abraham”. He was a gracious and humble man and he was joy to meet.

Next year Kairos will be celebrating 40 years of ministry in Orlando, FL.

Just returned from Kairos Prison Ministry weekend #14 at the Dolph Briscoe Unit. This was by far the most powerful and moving weekend we have experience at this unit.

We received men who were broken, lost, and in despair. They were all seeking something but were scared, skeptical, and doubtful. We have a promise in Jesus found in Matthew 11:28-30; that promise was fulfilled in these men and they left with hope, joy, and peace. These men were forgiven, restored, and uplifted; ready and willing to share the same throughout the compound. God is good….
