We celebrate the Divine Service every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. . John Lutheran Church is located in rural Dieterich, IL just South of town. We are members of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod and we gather weekly to receive the gifts from the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ that we need for everlasting life. We receive forgiveness for our sins through His Word, Baptism, and His Body and Blood. In response to His love shown to us we are transformed and glad to serve our community and world around us. We take pride in our responsibility to bring up our children in the faith with Church, Sunday School, Confirmation and Vacation Bible School. John Lutheran Church make around 100 quilts every year that are donated to Lutheran World Relief and Orphan Grain Train. John Lutheran Church is a participating congregation in the Lutheran Care Center located in Altamont. We partner with the other local parishes in the Effingham-Shelby zone to assist in making large print bibles. A committee assists the Kluthe Center in delivering Meals on Wheels on a rotational basis to the Dieterich/Newtown area. John Lutheran Church supports Blidene Lutheran Church in Blidene, Latvia. Because of you, Hunter is one step closer to following the call God has placed on his life. Thank you for being part of his ministry story and for lifting him up through your kindness, prayers, and fellowship.

🙏 Support Hunter Kinnison on his journey to Ministry! 🙏

Our church family is excited to support Hunter Kinnison as he follows God’s call to attend seminary! Hunter has faithfully served our community with heart and humility, and he’s stepped into the next chapter of his journey — preparing for full-time ministry.

🎓 Seminary is a big step — spiritually, emotionally, and financially. That’s why we’re coming together as a church family to raise funds and lift Hunter up as he answers God’s call.
