At Walnut St. Christian Preschool, we nurture little hearts through Christ-centered teaching, play based learning, and genuine love.

What we now know as Walnut St. Church of Christ Preschool began in 1968 when Mrs. Sara Caudill began the first Kindergarten in Dickson called Kiddie College at the Walnut Street Church of Christ. She taught this class for 2 years before the Dickson Co. schools offered Kindergarten. The class met Monday - Friday from 8:00-12:00 for $25 a week.

Hi Preschool Families!

I wanted to give everyone a quick update regarding preschool enrollment. Acceptance letters were originally scheduled to go out on June 1st, but due to the recent passing of my husband, I have needed a little extra time to catch up on administrative tasks while caring for my family.

Acceptance notifications and additional enrollment information will be sent through Brightwheel no later than Monday, June 8th. Class rosters will also be posted on our page by that date.

Thank you all for your patience, kindness, and understanding during this difficult season. Your support has meant more than you know. We are looking forward to welcoming our preschool families and getting ready for a wonderful school year together!

⏰ Hours: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

✨ What We’re Looking For:
•A caring and enthusiastic individual who loves working with children.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in early childhood education is a big plus (but not required!)

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a short-term role while being part of a supportive and positive environment.

It’s a busy (and exciting!) month for our friends at Walnut Street Christian Preschool!

Here’s what’s coming up in March:

🧁 March 11 & 12 – Pastries with Parents from 7:00–8:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Come enjoy breakfast with your child before class!

📸 March 16 & 17 – Spring Picture Day! Cap & gown photos plus class pictures will be taken.

📅 March 25 & 26 – Parent-Teacher Conferences. Time confirmations will be sent via Brightwheel.

✨🍎📚 2026–2027 Preschool Applications Open March 2nd! 📚🍎✨

We are so excited to begin welcoming new families to Walnut Street Christian Preschool for the upcoming school year!

At Walnut Street, our days are filled with learning, laughter, faith, and meaningful connection. We are honored to partner with families during these precious early years and provide a loving, Christ-centered environment where children thrive.

For the 2026–2027 school year, we will offer:
🖍️ 2-Day Preschool (8:00–1:00) for ages 3–5
🖍️ 4-Day Preschool (8:00–3:00) for children entering kindergarten in 2027
🖍️ Extended care options available for our 4-Day families

📆 Applications will open the morning of March 2nd, and the link will be posted publicly right here for everyone to access.

Spots are limited, and each application is thoughtfully reviewed as we build our preschool community for the year ahead.

We cannot wait to meet new families and welcome you into ours. It’s going to be such a sweet year!
