🏆 We have a (super close!) WINNER!
There were some very educated guesses, you have to take in account the one used each day at daily Mass, 1 per Mass at all 3 weekend Masses, the 4 at the altars for the ablution bowls, plus the ones that Fr. Waltz uses for his private Masses… they add up!
Lori Dukart was the closest with 28! The number was 29. Congrats, Lori! We will be messaging you!

What Is a Purificator?
If you’ve ever watched Mass closely, you may have noticed a small white linen cloth used by the priest, deacon, or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. This cloth is called a purificator.
The purificator has a sacred purpose: it is used to wipe and purify the chalice, paten, and other sacred vessels that contain the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. It is also used to carefully cleanse the rim of the chalice during the distribution of Holy Communion under both kinds.
Because it comes into contact with the Eucharist, the purificator is treated with great reverence and care. Before being laundered, it is first rinsed in a special manner so that any particles or drops of the Blessed Sacrament are respectfully returned to the earth through the sacrarium.
Even this simple piece of linen reminds us of the Church’s deep love and reverence for the Holy Eucharist—the source and summit of our faith.
“O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.”
