St. John, I share this announcement with gratitude, joy, and a tender heart after 19 years with you. Soon you will hear a timeline for my transition to this new call later this summer. Because this position is hybrid, my family will not need to move. For now, I ask for your prayers for my family, your Congregation Council, and staff at St. John as we follow the Spirit’s guidance and keep Living in Service to Christ together!

The Western North Dakota Synod Assembly will be held May 29-31 in Watford City. Pastor Lisa and Pastor Mary along with 4 lay voting members from St. John will participate in this annual gathering of ELCA congregations in Western N.D.

This assembly will include a bishop’s election. Bishop Craig Schweitzer was called as bishop in 2020. He has accepted a call to serve as Executive Director of ELCA Christian Community and Leadership to begin on Sept. 8. This means we will be electing a new bishop at this gathering. Please take some time to pray this weekend for the assembly and the new individual who will be called to serve as our new bishop.
