Sunday, we celebrated Usher Day, honoring those who faithfully serve at the doors of the Lord’s house.
What is an usher?
An usher is more than someone who seats you. They are doorkeepers in God’s house, called to serve with grace, patience, and love. They are the first smile, the first welcome, and often the first reflection of Christ that you encounter when you walk through the doors.
Why is their role so important?
Because ushers help set the atmosphere for worship. They create a spirit of order, reverence, and hospitality, ensuring that everyone who enters feels seen, welcomed, and ready to receive what God has for them.
Ephesians 6:5–7 reminds us that“With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men.”
This is the heart of our ushers serving faithfully, not for recognition, but as unto the Lord.
To our Mount Olive ushers: we thank God for your dedication, your humility, and your servant’s heart. Your ministry is vital, your presence is felt, and your service helps prepare the way for worship.
