"New Name Written Down in Glory"
Joyful music by the Praise Band included the Chancel Choir, Brass, and congregation on October 11 for the 150th Anniversary Celebration Service!
Bishop Harvey’s message concluded with, "The first 150 were a gift. The second 150 are a calling." Pastor Brian reminded the church, “God isn't done with us yet! Here's to a bright future of mission and ministry together at Dickinson First UMC!”

"The first 150 were a gift. The second 150 are a calling." We were so joyful to celebrate 150 years of community, worship, mission, and Christ-centered people here at Dickinson First UMC on Sunday. There were smiles all around as we worshipped, ate, celebrated, and took some fabulous photo booth pictures! Thank you to everyone who had a hand in bringing this service and celebration together, and thank you Bishop Harvey for coming to share a good word! Our first 150 years have been a testimony to the resiliency of this community. To the love and passion for God and neighbor the good people of Dickinson have had for over a century. Now, as Pastor Brian and Bishop Harvey reminded us - God isn't done with us yet! Here's to a bright future of mission and ministry together at Dickinson First UMC!

We Celebrate and Remember
This evening, October 9, 2026, marks the 15th Anniversary of Consecrating the New Sanctuary and auxiliary campus. It was a night to remember with joyful ceremony and ritual. Senior Pastor John Reasons and Associate Pastor Jim Jackson led the beautiful liturgy.
Special music was shared by the Praise Team; Children's Choir; and the Combined Chancel and Handbell Choir.
Praise God for an amazing sanctuary and complex with blessings flowing forth to our members and community.
And what’s more, this Sunday, October 11, the church will celebrate Dickinson First United Methodist Church’s 150th Year Anniversary with grateful worship, praise, message, music, and a fellowship dinner. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

Do You Remember?
We're excited about our church's 150th Anniversary Celebration on October 11. The Lord has blessed this church in many ways, and a new sanctuary is most likely a highlight for many of the current generation.
Fifteen years ago, Sunday, September 18, 2011 was also a very special day for our First United Methodist Church of Dickinson. It was the first worship in the new sanctuary, and the anthem was "The Majesty and Glory of Your Name."
The video is from that glorious day, and remember that was prior to the livestreaming we are so accustomed to in these times. This Sunday, September 25, the choir will be singing the same anthem at traditional worship.

One Student. One Name. One Prayer Partner.

https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/newsletter-form/11-beacon-prayer-network

One of our ministry partners, The Beacon, is reaching hundreds of students each week in Dickinson ISD, and we have an opportunity to come alongside these students through prayer. The Beacon’s 1:1 Prayer Network connects each student with a caring adult who commits to praying specifically for them throughout the school year. You’ll receive the student’s first name and grade. The student will never know your name, but they will know that a caring adult is praying just for them. The Beacon still needs 150 more prayer partners to make sure every student is covered. Click the link below to join the Prayer Network and pray for one student by name.

Twenty-five years later, we remember.

We remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We honor the courage of the first responders, the sacrifices of countless families, and the ways people came together in the days that followed.

Today, we pause to remember, to honor, and to pray—for those who still carry the weight of that day, for our nation, and for peace in our world.

25 Years Later. We Remember. We Honor. We Pray.
