Our fifty+ churches in East Texas are an active fellowship of churches serving one another and cooperating together to build Church Health, enable Church Engagement with the world, and pursue Church Revitalization. Unity Baptist Association is a voluntary fellowship of cooperating Southern Baptist churches who are committed to growing the kingdom of God through sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We trust one another, knowing we hold a common faith and a common goal. Every church is called by God to do work that no other church can do. We believe in the value of every church and their specific mission to accomplish the tasks given them by God. Every church, no matter the size, style of worship, method of leadership, or focus of ministry is important to the work of the gospel. We value cooperation. We believe that there are some things that can only be done together. There are things that no one church can do on its own and it is the place of the association to help the churches work together to accomplish these tasks. In 2018 UBA began the vital task of reevaluating its purpose and goals. By the end of 2019 the transition was complete and we now agree that our focus in ministry will be in three distinct areas. Church Health – This includes areas like: Leadership Development, Fellowship, Building Relationships among the Churches, IMPACT Conference, Strategic Planning for Churches, and Church Grants
Church Engagement – This includes areas like: BSM, DR, Feeding Unit, Block Party Trailer, Evangelistic Outreach, sharing mission trip opportunities across the association
Church Revitalization/Replanting – This includes: Helping churches that are dying, plateaued, in crisis
