If we know ourselves at all, we know we are not fit to face Him. What then are we to do? The New Testament answer is: call on the coming Judge to be your present Saviour. As Judge, He is the law, but as Saviour He is the gospel. Run from Him now, and you will meet Him as Judge then - and without hope. Seek Him now, and you will find Him (for he that seeketh findeth'), and you will then discover that you are looking forward to that future meeting with joy, knowing that there is now 'no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus' (Romans 8: 1).

Recently, some of our church family enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Diamond Grove Adventures, where we shared lunch and joyful fellowship, while celebrating the anticipated arrival of another baby boy into our fellowship. Thank you, Diamond Grove Adventures, for opening your doors to us on a Sunday afternoon. We can't wait for next time!

We're looking forward to being with you this Lord's Day! Our sermon text will be from Romans 13:1-4, specifically on the topic of submission to authorities. Below is an excerpt from a study by Ligonier Ministries, to help us further ponder the scriptures we will consider in the morning...

Paul exhorts us to obey the civil magistrate, first, because God has instituted the secular government and given it a specific vocation to protect its citizens. The Lord raises up leaders and brings them down, and those who are in power are there because of God's plan. This does not mean everything they do is acceptable in the Lord's eyes. Sin is still sin, and we are to participate in the political process to keep our laws and justice system as godly as possible. Still, by obeying the laws of the state that do not conflict with God's law, we are actually obeying God Himself, who rules the nations and even the rulers of the nations (Rom. 13:1-2)

This morning we celebrate the redemptive life of Al Runge, a cherished and loved member of Crosspoint that passed away last Sunday. At age 91, Al was the oldest member of Crosspoint and loved theologically rich music. We're excited to gather with you this Lord's Day as we continue our study in Romans, focusing on 13:1. Following the worship service we will have a time of fellowship at Diamond Grove Adventures from 12-3pm, where we will also celebrate the upcoming birth of Kelbe and Kindra Eden's baby boy.
