Are you ready for church tomorrow? We are, and we’d love for you to join us! ❤️

Come worship with us, hear from God’s Word, and enjoy fellowship with our church family. We have nursery available for both services, and Junior Church for children 6th grade and below during the morning service.

What a fun fall weekend everyone had!

While our Young Adults traveled to Camp CoBeAc in Prudenville, MI, the Anderson family welcomed everyone else to their annual Fall Bonfire!

What a blessing it is to have opportunities like these to fellowship, make memories, and enjoy time together outside the walls of Dexter Gospel Church. We’re thankful for the wonderful people God has given us to share life and fellowship with!

“Count Your Blessings,” found on page 564 of Rejoice Hymns, was written in 1897 by Johnson Oatman Jr., a New Jersey native, businessman, and Methodist preacher. Oatman wrote more than 5,000 hymns during his lifetime, including this well-loved hymn. “Count Your Blessings” reminds us that when we take time to recognize and give thanks for God’s blessings, it becomes harder to remain discouraged or ill-tempered. This week's Hymn of the Week is "Jesus Paid It All", found on page #276 of our hymnal book, Rejoice Hymns.

Some Hymn History:
This hymn began as a poem around 1865, written by Elvina Hall, a member of the choir at Monument Street Methodist Church in Baltimore, Maryland. After sharing her poem with the church organist, John T. Grape, he composed the music to accompany the hymn. Over the years, some of the hymn’s words have been edited or altered, but its central message has remained the same: the redemption and salvation made possible through Jesus Christ.
