SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE: REVIVAL GRIEVING MOTHER'S HEALING RETREAT | OCTOBER 3-5, 2025: "Behold, I will open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people," (Ezekiel 37:12). This is the promise of our God, who alone can bring life from death, healing from heartbreak, and light from the darkest valleys. The Diocese of Lansing’s Office of Fertility & Life, in partnership with Red Bird Ministries, invites mothers who have experienced the loss of a child, whether through miscarriage, stillbirth, or in infancy, to join us for a weekend of revival and healing. Women who attended past Revival retreats have said:

“This absolutely wrecked me in the best way.”

“I left feeling lighter, knowing the Lord carries me.”

“It was the first time I felt completely understood since my loss.”

“This is a Catholic, faith-based retreat. You cannot find anything like this. I know, I’ve searched.”

This overnight retreat is a place to encounter Jesus in the Sacraments, in the company of other mothers of loss. The weekend includes Mass, Adoration, guided reflections, and compassionate and practical support from trained facilitators who are also on this journey. Confession, spiritual direction, and counseling will also be available.

PRAY: NOVENA FOR PRIESTLY ORDINANDS | JUNE 5-13: Of your charity, please pray over the next nine days for these seven young men who are due to be ordained to the sacred priesthood for the Diocese of Lansing on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

From left to right, they are: Deacon Joshua Luttig, Deacon Christian Salata, Deacon Jonathon Bokuniewicz, Deacon Daniel LaCroix, Deacon Brett Ivey, Deacon Randy Koenigsknecht, and Deacon Jack Jobst

Together, these seven form the largest priestly ordination class for the Diocese of Lansing in 47 years and the largest group of men to become priests at a single ordination ceremony in 61 years. Deo gratias. This month's ordination will take place at Saint Thomas Aquinas parish in East Lansing at 10.30am. The principal celebrant will be Bishop Earl Boyea.

Over the next nine days, beginning today, you are invited to pray an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be each day for the following intentions: ⁣

Day 1: In thanksgiving for our Baptism and sharing in the mission of Christ.
Day 2: For the grace to discern how God is calling us to know, love, and serve Him.
Day 3: For the grace to accept our calling generously.
Day 4: For those currently living a generous single life for the Lord.
Day 5: For the protection of our vocations from every diabolical attack.
Day 6: For the gift of holy marriages and families, the well-spring of vocations.
Day 7: For an abundance of ordained clergy to bring us the Sacraments.
Day 8: For the gift of religious sisters and brothers to serve the Church.
Day 9: For all in consecrated life (including third orders) who pray for us.

Let us pray: Hear us, we beseech you, Lord, our God, and pour out on these your servants the blessing of the Holy Spirit, that these men, who are to be consecrated to your service, may be surrounded by your rich and unfailing grace. Through Christ our Lord. Amen!

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord—a powerful reminder that Christ, having completed His mission on earth, now reigns in glory at the right hand of the Father.

As Jesus ascended into heaven, He did not leave us behind. Instead, He opened the way for us to follow, promising the gift of the Holy Spirit and calling us to be His witnesses "to the ends of the earth" (Acts 1:8).

On this day, we honor those who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us of Christ’s words: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)

Let us also pray for their families, and for peace in our world. May we honor their sacrifice not just with words, but by striving for justice, compassion, and unity in our daily lives.
