Christ United Church - DeWitt, MI Sunday Morning Worship - 9 AM with Holy Communion

Watch Live on Facebook We will serve as a teaching center for people of all ages and denominations.

Christ United is an Interdenominational Church founded by the Episcopal & Lutheran Church Welcoming all people to experience the unconditional love of Jesus Christ! We believe God has called us to reach the people in the surrounding areas who have no church and to challenge the existing notions of what church should be and how it should be organized. We will assist laity in recognizing and develo

ping their spiritual gifts through education, training, and practical opportunities. We will celebrate the presence of Jesus Christ in our world and share the Good News whenever and wherever possible. We will encourage ministry anytime, anywhere by anyone.

Last night (Maundy Thursday) we celebrated the Last Supper by having a seder dinner. We learn the tradition of the seder dinner and its origin and discuss the Last Supper and contemplate that time with prayers and discussion. A fun time was had by all and we are very thankful for the fellowship that we shared.

On this Palm Sunday, we look ahead to Holy Week where we move from the quiet reflection of the upper room to the triumphant joy of the empty tomb. Here is how we will journey through these sacred days together:

The Journey Through Holy Week
🌿 Wednesday, April 1st | 10:00 AM
The Road to the Room: A "The Chosen" Bible Study Before the bread was broken, the path was set. Join us for an immersive study as we use scenes from The Chosen to dive deep into the tensions, friendships, and divine appointments leading up to the Last Supper.

🍞 Thursday, April 2nd | 6:00 PM
Hands-On Passover: A Commemoration Meal. Experience the preparation of the feast. We’ll be working together in the kitchen to bake traditional oat flour bread and grill savory lamb. More than just a meal, this is a time to set the table as one family and share in the symbols of the covenant.

✝️ Friday, April 3rd | 12:00 PM
The Shadow of the Cross: Good Friday Service. A midday hour of solemnity, prayer, and scripture as we reflect on the ultimate sacrifice.

☀️ Sunday, April 5th | 9:00 AM
The Celebration: He is risen! We begin with a joyous morning service, followed by our annual Family Photo to capture this year's gathering.

The Potluck: After the service, we’ll head downstairs for a community feast. If you’re able to bring a dish to share, we’d love to have it—but please know your presence is the most important part of the table!

Join us for any or all of these Holy Week experiences.

As disciples of Jesus, we are called to a discipline that contends against evil and resists whatever leads us away from love of God and neighbor. I invite you, therefore, to the discipline of Lent—self-examination and repentance, prayer and fasting, sacrificial giving and works of love—strengthened by the gifts of word and sacrament. Let us continue our journey through these forty days to the great Three Days of Jesus’ death and resurrection.

There are a variety of opportunities that our church provides to help you observe Lent.

Mid-Week Lenten Study, Tuesdays, 5:30PM @ Christ United
Embracing and Living the Grace of God - We talk alot about the abundant Grace of God, but what does that mean and how do we allow it to guide our lives and actions? Come join us for this conversation as we explore what it means to live God’s Grace. Bring a sack meal with you if you desire. Our time will conclude by 7:00PM.

Mid-Week Soup & Lenten Worship, Wednesdays, 6:00PM @ Grace
Join us for Soup at 6:00PM and worship at 6:30PM. We will be gathering in the social room for both events. For worship we will be using Holden Evening prayer and will include a brief reflection and discussion from Pastor Bryan. Our evening will conclude by 7:30PM.

Home Devotion. There are a variety of resources available for daily devotions at home. Committing to 40 days of devotion can be the start of a new habit.

Lenten devotions from Episcopal Relief and Development includes a short written reflection and video.
