Today's Topic: Obedience Over Comfort

1 Samuel 15:22
“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”

Good Morning Saints,

Obedience is one of the clearest proofs of surrender. It is easy to speak faith, sing worship, and offer religious language, but obedience reveals whether the heart is truly submitted to God. The Lord does not only desire outward activity; He desires a yielded life.

Saul learned that sacrifice could not replace obedience. He tried to justify partial obedience with religious explanation, but God was not impressed. Partial obedience is still disobedience when God has given clear instruction. The Lord is not looking for performance that covers rebellion.

Comfort often competes with obedience. God may call us to forgive when pride wants to hold on. He may call us to speak truth when silence feels safer. He may call us to step forward when fear wants to stay hidden. Obedience often requires us to choose God’s will over our own comfort.

True obedience does not always feel convenient, but it is always blessed. When we obey God, we align ourselves with His order, His purpose, and His protection. Disobedience may offer temporary relief, but obedience produces lasting fruit.

Today, choose obedience over comfort. Do not negotiate with what God has clearly spoken. Trust that the Lord who commands also knows what is best. Obedience may cost you something, but disobedience will always cost more.

Daily Meditation

Today, I will obey the voice of the Lord even when obedience challenges my comfort. I will not offer excuses where God is requiring surrender.

Daily Quote from Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips

“Comfort may protect your feelings for a moment, but obedience protects your destiny.”

Today's Topic: Guarding Your Spirit

Proverbs 4:23
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Good Morning Saints,

The heart is a sacred place that must be guarded carefully. What enters the heart often shapes the thoughts, words, reactions, decisions, and direction of life. That is why Scripture commands us to keep the heart with all diligence. It is not a casual instruction; it is a serious spiritual responsibility.

Many people guard their possessions better than they guard their spirit. They protect their homes, accounts, reputations, and schedules, but allow bitterness, offense, fear, pride, and unforgiveness to enter their hearts unchecked. But what lives in the heart will eventually speak through the life.

Guarding your spirit does not mean becoming cold, suspicious, or unreachable. It means being wise about what you allow to influence your inner man. Not every voice deserves access. Not every opinion deserves weight. Not every conflict deserves your peace.

The enemy often tries to contaminate the heart before he attacks the assignment. If he can fill the heart with resentment, he can affect service. If he can fill the heart with fear, he can affect obedience. If he can fill the heart with pride, he can affect humility. This is why spiritual vigilance matters.

Today, ask God to search your heart and cleanse anything that should not be there. Protect your peace, your prayer life, your humility, and your faith. The issues of life flow from the heart, so guard it as something precious before the Lord.

Daily Meditation

Today, I will guard my heart with diligence. I will not allow offense, fear, bitterness, or pride to control my spirit. My heart belongs to God.

Daily Quote from Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips

“Protect your spirit, because the enemy often attacks the heart before he attacks the assignment.”

Today's Topic: Do Not Grow Weary

Galatians 6:9
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Good Morning Saints,

Weariness often comes when obedience feels unnoticed. Many people can keep going when encouragement is present, support is strong, and results are visible. But the true test of faithfulness comes when you are doing what is right and still waiting to see the harvest.

Paul reminds us not to become weary in well doing. That means even good work can become heavy when the heart is tired. Serving can become difficult. Giving can become draining. Praying can feel delayed. Leading can feel lonely. Yet the Word of God tells us not to faint.

The promise is that we shall reap in due season. God has a season appointed for harvest. It may not come when we demand it, but it will come when God has ordained it. Due season belongs to God, and the faithful must learn to trust His timing.

The enemy wants you to quit before the harvest. He wants you to believe that your labor has been wasted, your prayers have gone unheard, and your obedience has been ignored. But heaven keeps record of faithfulness. God sees what others overlook.

Today, keep doing what is right. Keep serving. Keep praying. Keep loving. Keep building. Keep believing. The harvest is connected to your endurance, and the Word says you shall reap if you faint not.

Daily Meditation

Today, I will not allow weariness to make me abandon what God has called me to do. I will trust God’s timing and believe that due season is coming.

Daily Quote from Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips

“Do not quit in the season of planting, because the harvest may be closer than your weariness wants you to believe.”

Today's Topic: Renewed Mercy for a New Day

Lamentations 3:22-23
“It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

Good Morning Saints,

Every new morning is proof that God’s mercy is still speaking. We did not wake up because we were perfect. We woke up because the Lord was faithful. His mercy met us before our feet touched the floor, before we checked the news, before we faced our responsibilities, and before we knew what the day would bring.

The mercy of God reminds us that we have not been consumed by what could have destroyed us. There were battles that should have broken us, mistakes that could have disqualified us, griefs that could have swallowed us, and pressures that could have overtaken us. But the Lord’s mercy stood between us and destruction.

God’s compassion does not fail. People may grow tired, patience may run thin, and human kindness may have limits, but the compassion of God remains steady. He sees the full story. He knows the pain behind the smile, the tears behind the prayers, and the weariness behind the service.

New mercy does not mean we take grace for granted. It means we respond with gratitude, humility, and obedience. When God gives us another day, He gives us another opportunity to walk uprightly, love sincerely, forgive freely, serve faithfully, and trust Him more deeply.

Today, do not begin the day under condemnation. Begin it under mercy. The Lord has allowed you to see another morning, and that means purpose is still alive. Great is His faithfulness, and His mercy is enough for this day.

Daily Meditation

Today, I will receive the mercy of God with gratitude and humility. I will not live under yesterday’s condemnation, because God has given me new mercy for a new day.

Daily Quote from Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips

“Every morning you wake up is evidence that mercy spoke before judgment could finish its sentence.”

Today's Topic: A Heart Ready for Worship

Psalm 122:1
“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.”

Good Morning Saints,

Worship should never be treated as a burden, but as a blessing. When David declared that he was glad to go into the house of the Lord, he revealed the posture of a heart that understood the privilege of being in God’s presence. There is something sacred about gathering before the Lord with thanksgiving, reverence, and expectation.

Too many people enter worship distracted by the weight of the week, the noise of life, and the concerns of tomorrow. But when the heart is ready, worship becomes more than attendance. It becomes an encounter. It becomes a place where burdens are lifted, faith is strengthened, and the soul is reminded that God is still worthy.

A ready heart does not wait for the choir, the preacher, or the atmosphere to be perfect. A ready heart brings worship with it. True worship is not created by convenience; it is born out of relationship. When we remember what God has done, how He has kept us, and how He continues to show mercy, gladness begins to rise again.

The house of the Lord is a place of instruction, correction, healing, fellowship, and spiritual covering. It is where the people of God are reminded that they are not walking alone. In worship, we are strengthened by the Word, encouraged by the saints, and realigned with the will of God.

Today, prepare your heart for worship. Do not come empty of expectation. Come ready to honor God, receive from God, and surrender to God. Worship is not just something we do; worship is how we respond to the greatness of the Lord.

Daily Meditation

Today, I will enter worship with gladness, reverence, and expectation. I will not allow distraction, weariness, or heaviness to rob God of the praise He deserves.

Daily Quote from Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips

“A ready heart does not wait for worship to start; it enters the presence of God already carrying praise.”

Today's Topic: Peace in the Middle of Pressure

John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Good Morning Saints,

There is a peace that the world cannot understand because it does not come from the world. The peace of Christ is not dependent upon perfect circumstances, easy days, agreeable people, or trouble-free seasons. It is a peace that can stand in the middle of pressure and still declare that God is in control. When Jesus said, “My peace I give unto you,” He was not offering temporary comfort. He was giving His people a spiritual inheritance that could hold them steady when life became uncertain.

Pressure has a way of attacking the heart first. It tries to trouble the mind, disturb the spirit, and cause fear to rise where faith should be standing. The enemy knows that if he can trouble the heart, he can affect the way a person thinks, speaks, responds, and makes decisions. That is why Jesus directly commanded, “Let not your heart be troubled.” This means we have a responsibility to guard the inner place where faith, trust, and peace must remain anchored.

The peace of God does not mean we ignore reality. It means we refuse to let reality become greater than the God who rules over it. Bills may be real, grief may be real, sickness may be real, conflict may be real, and uncertainty may be real, but none of these things are greater than the Lord. Peace is not denial. Peace is confidence that even when life is heavy, God is present, God is faithful, and God is still working.

Many people search for peace in places that can never truly provide it. They look for it in money, relationships, titles, approval, entertainment, or escape. But worldly peace is fragile because it changes when circumstances change. The peace Jesus gives is different. It remains when people leave, when plans shift, when doors close, and when the journey becomes uncomfortable. His peace is not built on what is happening around us; it is built on who He is within us.

Today, allow the peace of Christ to govern your heart. Do not give pressure permission to become your master. Do not let fear preach louder than faith. Breathe, pray, trust, and remember that Jesus has already given you peace that the world cannot give and the world cannot take away. The pressure may be present, but so is the Prince of Peace.

Daily Meditation

Today, I will receive the peace of Christ and refuse to let fear rule my heart. I will not allow pressure to control my thoughts, my words, or my faith. The peace Jesus gives is greater than the trouble I face.

Daily Quote from Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips

“Real peace is not the absence of pressure; it is the presence of Christ keeping you steady while pressure is trying to break you.”

Today's Topic: Covered in the Storm

Psalm 91:1-2
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

Good Morning Saints,

Storms have a way of revealing where our trust really is. When everything is calm, it is easy to speak faith, quote scripture, and declare confidence in God. But when the winds begin to blow, when trouble rises suddenly, and when life places pressure on the soul, we discover whether our confidence is resting in temporary things or in the eternal God. The blessing of the believer is not that storms never come, but that we have a place of covering when they do.

The psalmist speaks of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High. This is more than an occasional visit to prayer when things get difficult. To dwell means to remain, to abide, and to live in continual fellowship with God. Many people want the protection of the secret place without the relationship of the secret place. But the covering of God is connected to closeness with God. When we remain near Him, we learn to hear His voice, trust His wisdom, and rest beneath His shadow.

The shadow of the Almighty reminds us that God is near enough to cover what concerns us. His presence is not distant, cold, or disconnected from our pain. He is a refuge for the weary, a fortress for the attacked, and a safe place for the one who feels surrounded. A refuge is where you run when danger is near. A fortress is where you are defended when the enemy is pressing. God is both. He receives us when we run to Him, and He protects us when the battle is too strong for us to handle alone.

There will be times when the storm does not stop immediately. There will be moments when the rain continues, the pressure remains, and the answers seem delayed. But being covered does not always mean the storm disappears at once. Sometimes it means God keeps your mind while the storm is still raging. Sometimes it means He gives you peace while the situation is still unsettled. Sometimes it means He holds you together when everything around you feels like it is falling apart.

Today, take comfort in knowing that you are not uncovered. The same God who sees the storm also sees His child inside of it. Do not let fear convince you that you have been abandoned. Do not let pressure make you step outside of the secret place. Stay close to God. Keep your confession anchored in Him. Say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress.” The storm may be real, but the covering of God is greater.

Daily Meditation

Today, I will remain in the secret place of the Most High and trust God as my refuge and fortress. I will not allow the storm to move me out of faith, prayer, or obedience. I am covered by the presence and power of Almighty God.

Daily Quote from Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips

“The storm may shake what is around you, but it cannot overthrow the one who is covered by God.”

Calvary greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The Office of +Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips extends sincere Christian love, prayers, and apostolic support to Pastor Benard Makori Omayio and the Third Day Worship Center in Kisii, Kenya, Africa.

Pastor Omayio and the congregation of Third Day Worship Center are faithfully serving the Lord under extremely difficult circumstances. At this present time, the ministry is conducting worship services, Bible studies, and gatherings under trees, exposed to the elements of the weather. Despite these challenges, they continue to preach the Gospel, serve the community, and care for those whom the Lord has placed in their hands.

There is an urgent need for financial assistance to help this ministry continue its work. Third Day Worship Center is in need of support for food, clothing, shelter, education, Bibles, biblical teaching materials, hygiene supplies, sanitary pads for teenage girls, mosquito protection, and other basic necessities.

This ministry is also caring for 48 orphaned children. Many of these children were orphaned as a result of post-election violence in Kenya, while others lost their parents due to HIV/AIDS and other tragic circumstances. The cost to sponsor one orphan is approximately $15.00 USD per month. These funds assist with food, clothing, shelter, education, and daily care.

We are therefore asking all believers, ministry partners, churches, missionaries, and those with a heart for Kingdom work to prayerfully consider giving financially to support this ministry. No gift is too small when it is given in love. Every seed sown will help meet real and immediate needs for the children, the ministry, and the community being served in Kisii, Kenya.

As the Body of Christ, we are called not only to preach the Gospel with our mouths, but to demonstrate the love of Christ through compassion, generosity, prayer, and action. Third Day Worship Center has refused to turn away children in need. They have opened their arms and declared to these precious souls, “You are not alone, and we will not leave you.”

This office stands in prayerful support of Pastor Benard Makori Omayio, Third Day Worship Center, and the children under their care. We are asking for financial assistance, missionary support, apostolic mentorship, biblical resources, and continued prayer for this ministry as they labor faithfully in the vineyard of the Lord.

May the Lord Jesus Christ touch hearts, open doors, send provision, and raise up partners who will help advance this work in Kenya. We believe that when we strengthen the hands of faithful servants in the mission field, we participate in the work of the Kingdom.

Please keep Pastor Omayio, Third Day Worship Center, the 48 orphaned children, and the entire community in your prayers. May Yahweh’s blessings, favor, protection, and provision rest upon them as they continue the work of the Gospel.

In the Love and Service of Christ,

Today's Topic: Faith When the Way Is Not Clear

Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Good Morning Saints,

Faith is easy to talk about when the road is clear, but it becomes real when we have to trust God without having every answer. There are seasons when the Lord will allow us to move forward with only enough light for the next step. He may not reveal the whole path at once, but He will never fail to guide the one who truly acknowledges Him. Trust requires surrender, and surrender requires the humility to admit that God sees what we cannot see.

The scripture tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart. That means God does not want partial trust, conditional trust, or trust that only exists when life makes sense. He wants the whole heart. Many times, we say we trust God, but we still hold tightly to fear, control, suspicion, and worry. True trust says, “Lord, I may not understand this season, but I believe You are still leading me.”

The command to lean not unto our own understanding is powerful because human understanding is limited. We often judge situations by what we feel, what we see, what we lost, what others said, or what has not happened yet. But God is not limited to the evidence in front of us. He is working behind the scenes, arranging what we cannot arrange, protecting us from what we cannot detect, and preparing doors we have not reached yet.

To acknowledge God in all our ways means we invite Him into every part of the journey. We do not only seek Him after we have made our own plans. We seek Him before the decision, during the process, and after the outcome. God is not meant to be an emergency contact for crisis moments only. He is our Father, our Shepherd, our Counselor, and our Guide. When we acknowledge Him, we are declaring that His wisdom is greater than our opinion.

Today, be encouraged even if the way is not fully clear. A hidden path is not the same as an absent God. Just because you cannot see every detail does not mean God is not directing your steps. Keep trusting. Keep praying. Keep acknowledging Him. The same Lord who brought you through what should have destroyed you is able to lead you into what He has prepared for you.

Daily Meditation

Today, I will trust the Lord with all my heart, even when I do not understand every detail of the journey. I will not lean on fear, emotion, or limited understanding. I will acknowledge God in all my ways and believe that He is directing my path.

Daily Quote from Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips

“Faith does not require you to see the whole road; it requires you to trust the God who already knows where the road leads.”

Today's Topic: Grace to Keep Standing

Ephesians 6:13
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

Good Morning Saints,

There are seasons in life where victory does not look like running, shouting, or celebrating. Sometimes victory simply looks like standing. Standing when your heart is heavy. Standing when your body is tired. Standing when people misunderstand you. Standing when the enemy tries to convince you that your faithfulness has been wasted. The Word of God reminds us that after we have done all, we are still called to stand.

The evil day is not imaginary. Every believer will face moments of pressure, warfare, disappointment, grief, temptation, betrayal, and spiritual exhaustion. God does not tell us to pretend those days will never come. Instead, He prepares us for them by commanding us to take on the whole armour of God. The armour is necessary because the assignment is real, the battle is real, and the enemy’s opposition is real. But greater than all of that is the power of God working in those who belong to Him.

Standing does not mean you have all the answers. It means you have made up your mind that you will not surrender your faith while waiting on God to reveal the next step. Many people fall, not because God failed them, but because they removed their armour in the middle of the fight. They stopped praying. They stopped believing. They stopped guarding their heart. They stopped feeding their spirit with the Word of God. But the believer who keeps standing is the believer who understands that endurance is part of obedience.

There is grace available for the one who refuses to quit. There is strength available for the one who feels weak but keeps leaning on God. There is mercy available for the one who has been wounded but still desires to be faithful. The Lord sees every tear, every prayer, every silent battle, and every moment where you chose righteousness when quitting would have been easier. Heaven does not ignore faithful endurance.

Today, do not measure your progress by how fast things are changing around you. Measure it by your willingness to remain rooted in God while He works. You may not feel strong, but you are still standing. You may not understand everything, but you are still trusting. You may not see the full victory yet, but you are still covered by the God who never loses a battle. After you have done all, stand.

Daily Meditation

Today, I will put on the whole armour of God and refuse to surrender my faith to pressure, pain, or discouragement. Even when I do not understand the battle, I will trust the God who strengthens me to stand.

Daily Quote from Bishop Dr. Ricky J. Phillips

“Sometimes the greatest proof of victory is not that you escaped the battle, but that after everything came against you, you are still standing.”
