Good morning, Detroit! As we celebrate Father's Day, we look back at the fathers who helped lay the very foundation of this historic sanctuary. Thank you for your strength, wisdom, and enduring faith.

Today, we also honor the fathers and father figures walking among us right now, who continue to guide, inspire, and shape the next generation of our church family.

Good morning, Detroit! Most people never see this view. For nearly everyone who enters thru this hall, this door is already open. Open for worship, for prayer, for confession. We are so accustomed to seeing it that way that it's easy to forget the quiet significance of the door itself.

But here it stands—closed. Not abandoned. Not forgotten. Simply waiting.

When it opens, we are joining where generations have knelt, sung, wept, rejoiced, confessed, communed, and heard the promises of Jesus. Until then, here's a rare glimpse of Historic Trinity's sanctuary door as few ever see it—holding its silence, keeping its stories, waiting for the sound of footsteps and the echo of the saints.

Good morning, Detroit! Our brides wait in this final quiet moment, her hand resting on her father's arm, her heart racing with anticipation. Behind those doors is everything familiar—the laughter of childhood, the protection of home, the man who taught her how she should be loved. Beyond those doors is "from this day forward".

And then... the doors open.

To everyone else, it's the start of a wedding procession. To her, it's the crossing of a threshold. One chapter closes. Another begins. The father who once carried her now walks beside her one last time. The aisle stretches ahead, and at the other end stands the man who has promised to carry that sacred responsibility forward.

But for just this one moment, those doors hold two worlds apart: the life she has known and the life she is about to enter.

And then the doors open...

It reminds us that some of life's greatest blessings wait on the other side of doors we are both excited and afraid to open.... surrounded by the faithfulness of God, who has guided every step that brought her to this moment.
