We are organizing collaborations around Metro Detroit for campus and young adult ministry. “Collabs” are 3-5 local churches supporting their nearby campus in partnership with Motor City Campus Ministry. Together with student and other young adult leaders we’ll sponsor 1-2 events a month during the school year. And Motor City staff will be present on your local campus representing collab churches and helping students form small groups for fellowship, study, service, and “conspiracies of goodness.” $100 micro grants will be available to students when collabs have formed. Monthly programming could be free meals for students at locations near campus, karaoke or trivia night fundraisers for ministries students support, after worship brunches with mix and mingle conversation starters. If we can dream it, we can do it. Be a part of this exciting new adventure!

This past spring break we sat down with Nathan Evans Fox and Lindsey Kelley at Edge Hill United Methodist Church. We talked to them about creating music and addressing the powers and principalities in this world with the goodness that we find in beloved community and our following of Jesus. This summer we’re gonna offer something new through Motor City Campus Ministry. It will be a series of sessions following book study guides from Nathan and Lindsey and our friends over at Zoe on Campus. There’s nothing more powerful than people talking through how we act in this world for God‘s goodness. We hope you’ll join us. We are continually inspired by Northern Guard Supporters and what they have to teach the church about affirming and welcoming practices for our LGBTQ+ siblings!

Inspired by David Lynch's character on Twin Peaks, "Fix your hearts or die" is an invitation for self reflection and the opening of hearts, or risk suffering the agony and corrosion of holding onto hate. Specifically, Lynch's character says this line in defense of a trans FBI agent against her bigoted colleagues. This tifo incorporates yellow roses, symbols of friendship and community, as well as the colors of the trans flag.
