The Meaning of America’s Consecration to the Most Sacred Heart – June 11, 2026
As the United States prepares to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the birth of our country, the bishops of the United States are solemnly preparing today to consecrate the country to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. It will take place at the Basilica of Our Lady Queen of the Universe in Orlando.
To consecrate the country to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus means to prayerfully entrust its present and future to Jesus’ sacred humanity and to the divine and human love symbolized by His Burning and Crucified Heart.

Tomorrow is the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, designated the Friday after the Second Sunday after Pentecost (Corpus Christi Sunday). Our Parish will be Consecrated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus during the 7:00 p.m. Holy Mass. Please join us in prayer.

"But above all, Your Heart was wounded so that a visible scar would enable us to see the invisible wound of Your love. For how could the ardor of Your love be better shown than by this, that not only Your Body but even Your very Heart was pierced with a lance? Truly the wounds of the flesh showed forth the wounds of the spirit. Who is there who would not love One so loving? My dearly beloved, let us pray that the Sacred Heart may deign to wound our heart still so hard, still so impenitent, and bind it with the sweet bonds of His love."
—St. Bonaventure

Did you know you can obtain a plenary indulgence on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi?

Sunday, June 4, 2026, the Catholic Church will celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi.

Saint Francis de Sales said,
“Nowhere do we find our Saviour more tender or more loving, than here [in Adoration] where He, so to speak, annihilates Himself and reduces Himself to Food, in order to pe*****te our souls and to unite Himself to the hearts of His friends.”

Eucharistic processions occur worldwide on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, or the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

During Pope Leo XIV's Wednesday General Audience on June 3, 2026, he encouraged Catholics to continue Eucharistic processions on Corpus Christi:

“In the Eucharist, we contemplate Jesus, the bread broken and given for each of us,” he said. “Processions with the Blessed Sacrament, which take place in the streets of many towns, are an expression of popular Eucharistic devotion; in this regard, I encourage you to keep alive this beautiful public manifestation of faith."

The USCCB's Manual for Plenary Indulgences states,
"A plenary indulgence is granted to the faithful who devoutly participate in a solemn Eucharistic procession, held inside or outside a church, of greatest importance on the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ."

To obtain this plenary indulgence, the faithful who participate in a Eucharistic procession on the Solemnity of Corpus Christi must also fulfill the usual three conditions:

- Go to Confession (as soon as possible or after fulfilling the other conditions)

- Receive Holy Communion (as soon as possible)

- Pray for the Pope's intentions. (The Church suggests an "Our Father" and a "Hail Mary" as soon as possible)

One must approach the indulgence with a spirit “completely detached from the affection for a sin,” both mortal and venial. If a soul is not completely detached, the indulgence is partial.

O Sacrament most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment thine! 🙏

✨ CORPUS CHRISTI SUNDAY ✨
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
Today, the Church celebrates one of the greatest treasures Christ has given us: the Holy Eucharist. At every Mass, we do not simply remember Jesus—we encounter Him.

Under the appearance of bread and wine, Christ gives us His true Body and Blood, fulfilling His promise to remain with us always. The Eucharist is not merely a symbol; it is the living presence of Jesus, who comes to dwell within us and nourish our souls.
In moments of joy, He rejoices with us.
In times of sorrow, He comforts us.
In our weakness, He strengthens us.
In our fears and uncertainties, He becomes our peace.

How often we long for God to come close to us, yet in the Eucharist, He does exactly that. The Creator of the universe humbles Himself to become our spiritual food, inviting us into a deeper union with Him.

Corpus Christi is also a reminder that receiving Christ should transform us. As we welcome Him into our hearts, we are called to become His hands and feet in the world—showing love, mercy, compassion, and forgiveness to others.

In a world often marked by division, confusion, and loneliness, Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament remains our constant source of hope, strength, and peace.

Today, let us renew our faith in His Real Presence.
Let us spend time with Him in Eucharistic Adoration.
Let us approach Holy Communion with greater reverence and gratitude.
Let us allow His love to change our hearts.
Lord Jesus, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, increase our faith, deepen our love, and help us live as Your faithful disciples.

"I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever." — John 6:51

“Come to me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28

The Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
As we enter the beautiful month of June, the Church invites us to draw close to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the heart that loves us with infinite mercy, compassion, and tenderness.
The image of the Sacred Heart reminds us that Christ’s love is not distant or abstract. His Heart burns with love for each one of us personally - in our joys, struggles, loneliness, grief, and hope. In a world often marked by division and uncertainty, devotion to the Sacred Heart calls us back to trust, peace, and the healing power of God’s love.

Celebrating the Sacred Heart
The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is celebrated this year on Friday, June 12. This special feast reminds us that God’s mercy is always greater than our weakness. We invite you to mark this day through prayer, Eucharistic adoration, acts of charity, or simply spending quiet time with the Lord.

As summer begins, may the Sacred Heart of Jesus renew your spirit and surround you and your loved ones with His abiding love.

May God bless you abundantly this June and always.
