What a glorious Resurrection Sunday we were blessed to experience!

As it is written: “He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.” (Matthew 28:6)
We witnessed that truth alive among us—the power of the risen Savior moving through every song, every smile, and every act of love. From the hearts of those who poured into the young people, to the voices lifted in praise, to the joy shared in fellowship, it was all a reflection of His resurrection life.
This day was more than a celebration , it was a reminder that Jesus is alive, and because He lives, we have hope, joy, and new life. 🙏

Day 8
Endurance in Faith

Matthew 5:10 (NIV):

“Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

Romans 8:36-37 (NIV):

“As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Faith is often tested through trials, opposition, or even ridicule for doing what is right. Endurance does not mean avoiding challenges, it means trusting God in the midst of them. When we face hardship because of our commitment to Christ, we are not alone. God equips us to stand firm, to resist despair, and to remain faithful. Leaning into Him, rather than relying on our own strength, turns persecution into a path of spiritual growth and victory. Through His love, we are more than conquerors, and our faith produces character, hope, and deeper intimacy with Him.

My prayer today:
Lord, strengthen me to endure every trial with unwavering faith. Help me lean on Your power, trust Your timing, and remember that through Your love, I am more than a conqueror. Amen.

Day 6
Becoming Pure in Heart
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”

Purity of heart is deeper than outward behavior. It is about our motives, intentions, and inner life before God. Integrity and sincerity are essential to walking in Christlikeness. A person may appear religious on the outside, but what God sees is the condition of the heart.

Paul speaks to this reality in a very direct and challenging way:
“To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.” Titus 1:15–16 (NIV)
This scripture is sobering, because it reminds us that when the heart is not right, everything becomes distorted.
When our motives are impure, when our actions say one thing but our heart says another and when we operate from pride, bitterness, or selfish intent. It should be a spiritual warning sign.
In those moments we must be honest before God and pray: “Lord, something in my heart is not right, help me!”

I remember writing a college paper years ago on what it means to be a Christian, and the central theme of my study was this: Walking with Christ must be rooted in integrity and
Christlikeness. It is a sincere desire to be like Jesus:
-pure in heart
-pure in motive
-pure in intention.
That is the life God blesses and the heart that truly sees Him.

My prayer today
Lord, search my heart and reveal anything in me that is impure or insincere. Cleanse my motives, renew my spirit, and help me walk in integrity and Christlikeness. Make my heart pure before You. Amen.

Day 9

Anchored in The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9–13)

“Lead Us Not Into Temptation”

When we pray, “Lead us not into temptation,” we are acknowledging something very real: temptation often comes disguised. The enemy is skilled at baiting us, wrapping temptation in our feelings, our sense of entitlement, or what we believe we have a right to. It is often emotionally driven.

I know this firsthand. There have been moments when I stood at "temptation's" door, ready to walk through it, (Honestly I was ready to kick the door down) because I felt mistreated or offended. And there it is, that word: offense.

Offense has a way of leading us far down the wrong path if we’re not careful. It clouds our judgment, fuels our emotions, and pushes us toward reactions rather than righteousness.

Jesus understood this struggle, which is why He warned His disciples in Matthew 26:41:
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Our spirit may desire to do what is right, but our flesh; our emotions, reactions, and impulses can easily pull us in the wrong direction. That’s why Jesus calls us to watch and pray. Awareness and prayer keep us from taking the bait.

When we ask God to lead us away from temptation, we are asking Him to help us choose mercy over reaction, wisdom over impulse, and obedience over emotion.

My prayer for today:
God, help me not to be led by my feelings or emotions into temptation. Guard my heart from offense and guide my steps toward mercy, grace, and wisdom. Lead me in Your ways. Amen.

Day 7

Anchored in The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9–13)

“Forgive Us Our Debts”

Today’s devotion is about the best self-care tool we could ever use, repentance. In a world that often focuses on external self-care, God invites us to care for our souls by keeping our hearts clean and our relationship with Him aligned.

When Jesus taught us to pray, “Forgive us our debts,” He was reminding us that repentance is not about condemnation, it is about connection. Repentance removes the barriers that sin can create between us and God, restoring intimacy and spiritual focus.

David understood this when he prayed in Psalm 51:10:
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

God does not cleanse us to shame us. He cleanses us to renew us. He restores without condemning and heals without humiliating. This is why personal repentance is relationship maintenance, it keeps our hearts aligned with God and our spirits sensitive to His voice.

The promise of forgiveness is made clear in 1 John 1:9:
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Un-repented sin can keep us stagnant, weighed down by guilt and shame. But that weight was never meant for us to carry. God desires to lift it, cleanse us, and free us so we can walk confidently in His will and His plan.

When we pray, “Forgive us our debts,” we are choosing freedom over stagnation and restoration over distance from Him.

My prayer today:
Lord, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me. Forgive me of my personal sins and I accept Your forgiveness and release every weight of guilt and shame. Help me walk in alignment with Your will and purpose. Amen.

Anchored in The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9–13)

“On Earth as It Is in Heaven”

At times, it can be difficult to drown out the chaos of the world around us. The noise is loudly blaring in our ears and constantly in our faces. News, responsibilities, pressures, and expectations compete for our attention every single day. As my former pastor, Charles Grisham, used to say, “The problem with life is that it is so daily.” And that is so true.

The challenge isn’t that life happens, it’s that life can so easily pull our focus downward.

Balance comes when we learn to lift our eyes and focus on heaven. When Jesus taught us to pray, “on earth as it is in heaven,” He was inviting us to live with a heavenly mindset, allowing heaven’s values to shape our daily lives.

Scripture calls us to intentionally direct our thoughts. Philippians 4:8 (NIV) says:
“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.”

Heaven is marked by purity, truth, peace, and righteousness. When we choose to dwell on what reflects heaven, our minds begin to align with God’s purposes.

Similarly, Colossians 3:2 instructs us:
“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

Having a heavenly mindset does not mean ignoring the realities of life, it means viewing life through the lens of eternity. When our thoughts are anchored in heaven, our actions on earth begin to reflect God’s Kingdom.

When we pray, “on earth as it is in heaven,” we are asking God to shape our thinking, our attitudes, and our purpose so that heaven’s influence is evident in how we live each day.

My prayer today:
Lord, help me to lift my focus above the chaos of this world. Align my thoughts with heaven, shape my purpose by Your truth, and let Your Kingdom be seen in my life. "on earth as it is in heaven." Amen.

Anchored in The Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9–13)

“Thy Will Be Done”
As I read Psalm 40:8, a simple but powerful question rose in my heart: What is the will of God concerning me? in every area of my life?
Psalm 40:8 says: “I delight to do Your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart.”
God’s will is not meant to be a mystery that leaves us confused or striving. His Word reveals that His will begins in our hearts before it is ever worked out in our actions.
That thought led me to 1 Thessalonians 5:18, which reminds us:“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

God’s will includes a posture of gratitude; trusting Him even when circumstances are unclear. Gratitude aligns our hearts with His purposes.

From there, my thoughts turned to the greatest commandment, where Jesus makes God’s will unmistakably clear: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:37–39)

Later, after the resurrection, Jesus asks Peter a piercing question, not once, but three times: “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” Peter answered, “Yes, Lord, You know that I love You.” Jesus said, “Feed My sheep.” (John 21:15–17)
In that moment, Jesus connected love to obedience and purpose.

When we pray “Thy will be done,” we are not asking God to reveal something complicated or hidden. His will is clear: Love God fully. Love people faithfully. Serve others with a willing heart.
When love becomes our motive, obedience follows naturally and God’s will is fulfilled through our lives.

My Prayer this morning Lord, help me to delight in Your will. Align my heart with Yours, teach me to love deeply, and lead me to serve faithfully. Let Your will be done in me. Amen.
