Established in 2005 with the mission to bring life and hope to the east side of Detroit, LifeBUILDERS seeks to restore a community that had suffered the devastating effects of disinvestment for nearly 20 years. The ministry set their sights on the Regent Park neighborhood, which is bordered by Kelly Rd., Gratiot Ave, 8 Mile Rd. This community was blighted and crime-ridden, with no safe places to p

lay and declining schools. The community needed hope, the youth needed opportunities, the seniors needed care, and someone needed to address the blighted conditions and advocate for the community residents. Then God began to move in the hearts of His people to pour out His love on the community. A building was purchased on Kelly Rd., and without being entirely sure of what to do, meetings started to be hosted there. The ministry grew as abandoned homes and buildings were purchased and rehabbed. And a small bus was donated so that children were able to be picked up and brought to meetings where they learned that God loves them. Over 15 years of effort, millions of dollars, 10’s of thousands of hours of volunteer help and God’s richest blessing have been poured into the community of Regent Park. As a result of our work there are new parks, an early childhood education facility, over 80 houses that have been rehabbed and either rented or sold, and youth continue to gather year-round to hear about this God who came to save them. What a story, what a Savior. The Regent Park community is now in the spotlight of future development and investment plans by the City of Detroit. People have hope, and now people actually want to live in the community. We believe that there will be a day sooner than we thought, but according to God’s perfect timing that all the residents of Regent Park will enjoy a peace that comes from our Heavenly Father, and they will look on and give God the praise for all He has done.

🍂 Fall Programming Starts THIS Month at LifeBUILDERS! 🍂
Summer flew by, and we are so excited to welcome our Regent Park neighbors back for a brand-new season of growth, community, and faith. Whether you are looking for youth mentorship or senior fellowship, we have a place for you!
Here is what is kicking off this September:
KidBUILDERS (1st–5th Grade): Helping our younger kids build a strong spiritual and social foundation through Bible lessons, fun activities, and mentorship.
LB Youth (Middle & High School): Providing a safe, energetic environment where teens can belong, build strong character, and hang out with caring mentors.
Seniors Program: A welcoming monthly gathering for our elder neighbors featuring lunches, fitness classes, Bible studies, and fun outings.

We have officially concluded our 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program! We are incredibly thankful for how God moved through these young Detroit leaders over the past few months. ☀️
At LifeBUILDERS, our mission is to empower youth through holistic development—cultivating not just professional skills, but character rooted in faith.
This year’s cohort successfully:
✝️ Prepared for their Calling: Developed strong workplace readiness skills, learning to conduct themselves with integrity and professionalism.
💛 Built Up the Next Generation: Served as joyful mentors and role models for the children in our Summer Day Camp.
🏡 Restored God's Creation: Worked diligently through physical labor to remove blight and beautify the Regent Park neighborhood.
🏦 Practiced Healthy Stewardship: Managed their hourly earnings while learning fundamentals of personal finance and banking.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our donors, partners, and staff who covered this program in prayer and support. Together, we are investing in the next generation of faith-led leaders for the city of Detroit.💪

We are so grateful for our Summer Interns, who poured their hearts and souls into Summer Programming at LifeBUILDERS this year! 🙌❤️

That’s a wrap on summer! ☀️
Our staff gathered for an end-of-the-summer lunch to celebrate what the Lord has done and enjoy some delicious summer eats together 🍔✨
Beyond the good food, it was a beautiful time of reflection. We spent time looking back on the last few months—thanking God for His incredible faithfulness and everything He did in and through our team. As we look ahead, we lay our plans at His feet and for all He wants to do over the upcoming school year.
We are so grateful for this team and expectant for all that God has in store for the months ahead! 🙏📚

Back to School! 🎒✏️ Our kids are officially headed back to the classroom!
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the continuation of our powerful, long-standing partnership with Parkway Christian School. For many years, this collaborative effort has been changing lives in our community, and a brand-new school year is officially underway! 🤝❤️
Through the Parkway Scholarship Program, our wonderful group of LifeBUILDERS students are returning to campus to continue stepping into their bright futures with a top-tier education rooted deeply in faith. 🏫✨
Because we know the impact of this program shapes generations, we want to cover this entire school year in prayer and support.

What a beautiful week of seeing the body of Christ in action! 🙌✨
God has been moving powerfully at LifeBUILDERS Ministry Center as we wrapped up our summer programming with our end-of-summer mini camp! ☀️🏕️
We are so incredibly grateful for the volunteers from River of Life Assembly of God, Belleville, MI. 🙏❤️ They poured out so much love while serving alongside longtime LifeBUILDERS volunteers Sarah who taught Art and Brooke who taught Science with our amazing programming team all week. 🤝
