Firstly, many dont know what a HIT is clearly. He had 3 national rotation songs and 1 HIT. Ha was not a HIT it was ROTATED. Rodeo was not a HIT it was ROTATED annnd it became a heavily SAMPLED and ADVERTISEMENT UTILITY track. Back Dat A*z up.... WAS A HIT. A NATIONAL NOW INTERNATIONAL MEGAHIT that also became heavily SAMPLED and LICENSED FOR COMMERCIAL USE/AD UTILITY.

Truly he technically and actually was a 1 hit wonder upon true analysis. HIT means NATIONAL chart topper for at least 2 consecutive weeks. So a song can be a LOCAL even REGIONAL "hit" but not NATIONAL. OUTSIDE Louisiana only Back Dat A*z up did that for Juvie.

And also, stop mentioning that wack verse Hov WAS PAID to do on his album; or the bs Vol 3 everyone declares as the worse Jay Z album... cameo... that I don't even remember Juvie doing on it. Because that was Hovs weakest album I barely listened to. Or mentioning but he did a TDC! Listen, Jay featuring or a TDC (tiny desk concert) does not mean he not a 1 hit wonder. Lol.

Now lets be honest and realize, Juvie only stayed relevant in same energy as BG and Turk after the split: as CASH MONEY VICTIMS!!! Not from any music.

As long as WAYNE was still popping and HE AND/OR BIRDMAN still relevant; IN ANY FORM OR FASHION;.. JUVIE, BG, AND TURK have always oddly also remained OF RELEVANCE... not relevant but OF relevance... due to all the controversy surrounding payment issues and Birdman having done them wrong etc etc etc,... ALWAYS being brought up.

Not because they were still making music or dropping any hits!

Juve is a 1 Hit wonder outside The SOUTHEAST I would say. His 1 National/International Hit just happened to be one of the biggest hits EVER in Hip Hop. So it is soooo big and still played so frequent as such a staple in the mind, it gave Juvie a LONG LASTING VISIBILITY from it. Kind of how It takes 2 did Rob Base! Yes he dropped Joy n Pain and it WAS IN ROTATION heavy but not a HIT like it takes 2.

It takes 2 is like the Back Dat A*z up before Back Dat A*z. Commercially crossed over, very catchy, used in commercIALS even, played at arenas etc type MEGAHIT. Those are hard to follow. Having that MEGAHIT plus one more in rotation and them being family reunion type staple songs... or used heavily in commercial ads or something, can make you forget thats all them ni**as got! 😂

Juvie strangely is a product of the exact same formula. Rodeo wasnt a HIT, but it quickly became a theme music for the strip clubs type song like joy n pain is a theme music for a bbq or black wedding reception. Rodeo is to the strip club what My eyes dont cry no more is to the Hustle at a black wedding in 1996. It STILL is background music on club commercials on the radio type s**t.

So his MEGAHIT and HEAVILY LONG TIME ROTATED THEME ENERGY SONG in a major closely related market to Hip Hop, adult entertainment; and all the throwback tours rapping 1998 songs since 2004 in hole in the walls... create this illusion where you forget thats all the n***a got 😂

Annnnnd he benefitted from another aforementioned weird formula of staying VISIBLE, which is that he is is associated to a HIT MACHINE in CMB/YMCMB by default in a way that ODDLY kept him OF RELEVANCE or VISIBLE; because we always cheered for Juvie and felt Birdman did him and BG bold career wise. Thats a major factor. Staying visible but in a POSITIVE reception to the fans. Everyone always cheered for Juvie and BG to make it due to feeling they got done wrong by Birdman. lets be real. As a GROUP... HOT BOYS have a warm reception and their music LATER enjoyed more sales and fans based on LIL WAYNE EVEN YMCMB Successes. That default association to a megastar and especially handful of, in anyway, is marketable if done right! A dude Jay z made fun of in 2ndd grade can ride that s**t to wealth if done right! Every frequent now n then Juvie and BG would be a focus in HH as allegations against Baby not paying em would resurface surrounding his controversies with WAYNE. So Juvie was a poor lil victim to mr bad guy type s**t all these years kept him as a heavy peoples champ without having no real hits!

These factors, having a megaHIT and a mega ASSOCIATION to a MEGASTAR, MEGA LABEL, AND MEGA CONTROVERSY... oddly create this illusion of Juvie having been made or making some other music throughout those times after CMB arrival that we remembering him being in the news per se about; but its not lol. He ain't had a mfn INDUSTRY STANDARD hit before or after Back Dat A*z.

TECHNICALLY... Juvie is the most successful rap One Hit Wonder since Young MC with bust a move or Tone Loc with wild thing😂
