Pope Francis in Laudato Si' asked us to tend to the cry of the earth and the cry of the people. A few things we do everyday, including yesterday, to heed the call: Showcase concluding event for middle school STEAM program focused on rain gardens, adult Stormwater Specialist class learning about plants outdoors, SWST certified graduates hired to maintain greeen stormwater infrastrcture at Lake Erie Metropark!

Typically busy outdoors at the Center yesterday focused on authentic and engaging STEAM activities: clockwise from left, the Renaissance High School environmental club and class learn about rain gardens in preparation for their own at school (wishing great success!); weekly science and nature club activities in the outdoor classroom with great partner Huron Clinton Metroparks (find them at Summer Camp here as well!); and birdhouse construction with the after-school STEAM middle school scholars (who also experimented with solar energy this evening!).
