On June 17, 2026, Gesu and MHT Housing were pleased to host a groundbreaking ceremony that was planned and organized by the mayor's office. The ceremony was a great way to celebrate after three and a half years of the strenuous effort of planning, organizing and putting together a workable deal; now we are ready for construction! The development is scheduled to be completed in fall 2027.

Gesu participated in the Silence to Violence walk to end gun violence at Church of the Messiah on Saturday, June 6, 2026. Among the over a thousand participants, Gesu was well represented behind the Gesu banner with ten Gesu members.

Gesu Parish held its annual picnic on Sunday, June 7, 2026. After a celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi at Mass, we enjoyed the beautiful weather and fellowship at the picnic!

With Fr. Christopher Alt, S.J. presiding, Gesu held an outdoor Mass for Creation and prayer last Saturday, May 16th in the Palmer Park Pavilion. Last week, Catholics united globally for Laudato Si’ Week under the 2026 theme “From Hope to Action” and celebrated the eleventh anniversary of Pope Francis’ landmark encyclical on care for our Earth and all God’s creation.
