Tonight, the grand opening for The Neighborhood Church occurred in Pontiac, MI. The Neighborhood Church is a funded ministry of the Southeast Michigan Synod and the ELCA. We worshipped together, ate together, and dedicated their new home in The Webster Center. A holy night and a powerful witness in the neighborhood.

The is coming to the ! Mark your calendars as the Midwest Invitational Rodeo returns to the library on Wednesday, June 10 from 3 - 7 pm for our annual Rodeo. In addition to pony rides, there will be a carnival with games, a petting zoo, line dance lessons & a special surprise for parents. And be sure to sign up for Summer Reading while you're there!

*NOTE: All Library programs are free and open to the public--no tickets are required. Registration helps us gauge interest and numbers, but again is not required.

Today, the Southeast Michigan Synod meets in assembly to do the work of the church together in this place, in this time. For such a time as this we are called to share the story of love, forgiveness and new life we experience in Jesus Christ. We do this work as a synod “on the way together,” and we celebrate community today as we go about the business of the church.

We are here this morning making final preparations for God’s people of the ELCA in Southeast Michigan to gather for Synod Assembly today. For such a time as this, we spend this sacred time to be on the way together, learning alongside one another and collectively guiding the church to passionately share Christ’s story with the world.
