“What do Jesus’ actions in the Gospel of Luke reveal about who or what Jesus finds most important?”

In preparation for Sunday School this week, I thought I would share this early to give anyone who may see it or join me live something to think about before hand.

Noah Goodwin with Miller Jon, “Faith of the Persistent,” in The KJV Standard Lesson Commentary, 2023–2024, ed. Jane Ann Kenney, Ronald L. Nickelson, and Taylor Z. Stamps, vol. 71, The KJV Standard Lesson Commentary (Colorado Springs, CO: Standard Publishing, 2024), 278.

Are🌟 Are you ready to share the reason for your hope? And are you minding your business?

🐟 Let's dive in! As believers, we're all called to be fishers of men – it's our God-assigned business. Here's a glimpse into why our response matters:

🎣 Fishers of Men: This is our divine assignment. We're called to spread hope and faith, casting nets of compassion and love to draw others to Jesus. "And he said to them, 'Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.'" - Matthew 4:19 (ESV)

🤔 Temporary Why?: While it's natural to question, "Why?" in times of suffering, our focus should shift to "What's next?" Our response to hardship can lead others to seek faith and purpose beyond the pain. "And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28 (ESV)

🌈 Pointing to Faith: Our journey through suffering can be a beacon of light, guiding others toward a life anchored in Jesus. It's an opportunity to demonstrate trust and unity in God's plan, even amidst trials. "Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good." - 1 Peter 4:19 (ESV)

📖 Scriptural Insight: Drawing from The KJV Standard Lesson Commentary, let's stand firm in defending our faith, knowing God desires the best for His people. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV)

Let's continue to shine brightly together, sharing the hope that anchors our souls and guiding others toward the transformative power of faith. 🙏✨

In a recent Sunday School lesson, we talked about self-examination. Yesterday, I was in a one-on-one with one of the students, and I had a typo. He immediately sent me a message letting me know that I had made an error and that I needed to correct it so that those reading it (it was only him) would understand the message.

90% of his work is not done. He breaks all the rules. He copies and pastes ALL wait, did I say ALL of his work, and for him to have passing grades, I added participation points LOL!

He is not the only one who does this. If that were true, the bible would not speak to it. I am not perfect, and if I am saying something, it is because I am compelled as a mouthpiece of God under the direction of the Holy Spirit to speak.

But even when we are speaking and are led to speak, we have to do it in love. It is not what we say it is how we say it sometimes; the Holy Spirit will help us with that, too.

This song came to mind this morning while talking to my 9-year-old granddaughter.

“Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults—unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor. Matthew 7:1-5 The Message (MSG)

Do not be like that person. You think that you are better than your friend. But you are not. First, you must take the big piece of wood out of your own eye. After that, your eyes will see clearly. Then you can take the small piece of dirt out of your friend's eye. EASY

Here is one more version for the people in the back LOL!

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and fail to notice the plank in your own? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me get the speck out of your eye’, when there is a plank in your own? You fraud! Take the plank out of your own eye first, and then you can see clearly enough to remove your brother’s speck of dust.” PHILLIPS

I know to some this is not much but it was truly an amazing celebration for me. If one person hears the Sunday School Lesson a seed has been planted this was in my email today! As I taught today didn't see many people but I never worry about it. I only ever asked God for 10 people to be impacted well here is 75 thank you Father that you are getting the glory. As I lift you up you are drawing and that is something to be celebrated it's not about me but about God getting the glory!
