Sermon Title: Power for Unity and Liberty in Life (PULL)

On this Memorial Day weekend and in the spirit of Pentecost, Pastor Mike reminded us that true power is found in unity through the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit that filled the upper room and transformed fearful disciples into bold witnesses is still moving today — bringing healing, hope, and purpose to communities that are hurting and people who are weary.
The message connected the sacrifice of veterans and ancestors with the ongoing struggles faced in our neighborhoods today: economic hardship, injustice, mental exhaustion, displacement, division, and hopelessness. Yet through it all, God has not abandoned His people. The Holy Spirit remains present as a rushing wind and holy fire, empowering believers to stand together in one accord.
Pastor Mike challenged the church to move beyond isolation, impatience, and division and instead become a spiritual anchor within the community — praying together, working together, supporting one another, and fighting for the dignity and well-being of all people. Pentecost was not simply an emotional experience; it was the birth of a united people empowered to transform lives, break barriers, and create a future rooted in God’s justice, love, and peace.
The message reminded us that when believers come together with shared purpose, burdens are lifted, hope is restored, and communities can be revitalized through the power of God. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead still lives within us today, giving us strength to overcome every challenge and boldly carry the fire of Christ into the world.
This week, take time to pray not only for yourself, but for your community, your neighbors, and those carrying silent burdens. Ask God to help you become a vessel of unity, healing, and encouragement wherever you go.
How has God strengthened you through community, prayer, or unity during a difficult season? Share your testimony and encourage someone else today.
