Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. - 1 Peter 4:10

God’s mission becomes practical when love takes shape through your everyday life. Scripture says we are stewards of grace—meaning God entrusts His kindness to us so it can reach others. That connects with the sermon’s four pathways: pray, serve, go, and give. These are not separate “religious activities”; they’re simple ways mercy moves through ordinary people.

Start small and start now - like today as Hurricane Isaias is taking aim. Serving can be as humble as noticing someone carrying something heavy—literally or emotionally—and stepping in. You will see a lot of this in the coming days, maybe right in your own neighborhood.

Going can mean crossing the street, not crossing an ocean. Giving can mean resourcing what God is doing through others. And prayer is where mission begins, because prayer aligns your heart with what moves God’s heart.

Today is about choosing a responsive lifestyle: when God puts someone in your path, don’t just notice the need. Take one concrete step. You’re not trying to save anyone by yourself; you’re joining the Savior who already came to you and is already at work around you.

Which pathway is your next faithful step this week: pray, serve, go, or give? Choose one and write it down.

Identify one person you can serve in a practical way within the next 48 hours (a message, a meal, help with clearing debris, a ride, a listening conversation, praying with someone).

What is one resource God has entrusted to you that could bless others (time, skills, money, encouragement, hospitality)?

Where might you need to “get up” emotionally—moving from distraction, fatigue, or fear into one act of obedience?

End today by planning one specific action (day/time/place). Pray: “Lord, empower me to follow through with love.”

“Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.” - Jonah 1:2

Jonah’s story exposes a surprising obstacle to mission: not confusion about what God wants, but resistance to who God loves. Jonah didn’t lack information; he lacked compassion. And when compassion dries up, “go” starts to feel like a burden instead of good news.

The sermon reminded us that God’s mercy reaches farther than we would naturally choose. That’s both comforting and confronting. Comforting, because God’s mercy reached us. Confronting, because the same mercy refuses to stop with us. God may call you to move toward someone you’d rather avoid—someone inconvenient, complicated, different, or even someone who has hurt you.

Today is an invitation to let God work first in your heart. The goal isn’t forced friendliness or performative kindness; it’s an honest surrender: “Lord, give me Your heart for people.” When God captures your heart, He begins to move your hands and feet with a compassion you didn’t manufacture.

Who is your “Nineveh” right now—someone you avoid, dismiss, stereotype, or feel annoyed by? Be specific.

What story do you tell yourself about that person/group that makes compassion difficult?

Where might God be inviting you to see them as a whole person rather than a label or frustration?

What boundary do you need to keep, and what step of love can you still take within that boundary (prayer, respectful conversation, practical help)?

Pray for your “Nineveh” by name, asking God to bless them and to soften your heart without excusing wrong.

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. -Genesis 12:1

God’s call to Abraham began with a simple word: go. Not because Abraham had all the details, but because God had a purpose. The invitation wasn’t a five-year plan; it was a next step. God often leads the same way with us—by giving enough light for obedience today, not enough information to eliminate the need for trust.

In the sermon, the challenge was clear: many people won’t come to us, so love must move toward them. That can feel uncertain, like leaving what’s familiar. But notice the kindness in God’s leadership: “to the land I will show you.” God doesn’t merely send; He guides. Obedience is less about having certainty and more about following a faithful Sender.

Today is about shifting your mindset from “I’m stuck where I am” to “God has placed me where I am.” Your home, workplace, neighborhood, school, or daily routines may be the very context where God intends to reveal the next step—one conversation, one act of service, one courageous invitation at a time.

What “familiar place” do you cling to for security (comfort, control, predictability, approval)?

Where has God already placed you that could be your mission field this week (name specific locations and people)?

What is one “next step” you sense God nudging you toward—not a life overhaul, but a faithful move?

How do you typically respond when you don’t have all the details—avoidance, anxiety, over-planning, or trust? What might it look like to choose trust today?

Pray: “Lord, show me the next step—not the whole map—and give me courage to take it.”

GET UP & GO // Tuesday

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

Before God ever asks anything of you, He shows you who He is. The cross is God’s clearest demonstration that He doesn’t corner people into obedience—He comes near in mercy, while we’re still broken, skeptical, distracted, or ashamed. Mission begins here: not with your effort, but with God’s love moving toward you first.

If you’ve ever feared that saying yes to God will shrink your life, start by looking at Jesus. His heart, hands, and feet moved toward you—wounded for your rescue, not your burden. When mercy truly reaches you, it doesn’t just change your beliefs; it reshapes your desires and replaces fear with trust.

Today, receive the gospel again: you are loved before you are useful. From that safety, you can begin to ask a new question—not “What will God take from me?” but “What might God share through me?”

Where do you still picture God as demanding rather than demonstrating love? Name that honestly in prayer.

What part of Romans 5:8 is hardest for you to believe personally: “God demonstrates,” “for us,” or “while we were still sinners”? Why?

Write a short statement you can return to this week: “Because Christ came to me, I can ______.”

Identify one area where fear makes you hesitate to respond to God (rejection, inconvenience, feeling unqualified, past hurt).

Take two minutes to quietly thank Jesus for coming to you first; let gratitude, not guilt, set the tone for your week.
