Good morning SKIDS! And welcome to THE LAST WEEK OF MORE LIKE JESUS!

💡This week, our Big Idea is "We can be bold because we're in God's family."

This past Sunday, we learned about how BOLD Nehamiah was.

-Nehemiah was bold and asked the king to go to Jerusalem to rebuild the wall and to send him with letters for safety and supplies.
-Nehemiah went to the Jewish Leaders and told them everything that had been happening and called them to action, they said, “Yes, let’s rebuild the wall.”
Some leaders from nearby areas were upset that Jerusalem was being rebuilt. They mocked (teased) the Israelites and eventually became so upset that they made plans to attack them. This didn’t stop Nehemiah and the people, they kept building, prayed for protection, and boldly defended themselves with a sword in one hand and tools in the other!
The nearby leaders still tried to trick and scare Nehemiah but he stood strong and knew that God would take care of them.
After only 52 days, the work was done.

We should be bold like Nehemiah. Being bold in our faith is another way we can be More Like Jesus!

Whether you have joined us before or this is your first time coming, we invite all of our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to join us this Friday, February 21st, from 6:00-7:30 for our CLUB 139 monthly meet-up.

Parents, Club 139 is designed to provide your child with a safe and engaging space where they can connect with peers, learn about their faith, and grow personally and spiritually. As it talks about in Psalm 139, we want our kids to know that they are "Fully Known and Deeply Loved"

Hello Shoreline Kids! Welcome to our recap of week 3 in our series, More Like Jesus.

Our SKIDS watch a Bible story about how Jesus was tempted by Satan.

Sometimes the enemy tries to tempt us to sin.
👉When Jesus was tempted, He fought back by speaking scripture!
❗We can fight temptation by speaking scripture, too!
In the Bible it says scripture is like our sword, we can use it to fight against them enemy!
💪When we stand up to the devil and speak scriptures, he runs away! Just like our verse of the day says, “So obey God. Stand up to the devil. He will run away from you.”
💡To do this well we need to memorize scripture, and be ready to speak it
🧐In the Bible story, Jesus didn’t have to stop and look through His Bible to find the right verse. We need to be ready with scriptures memorized, too!
🤺When we do this, it’s like we’ve learned how to use the sword of the spirit well.
We need to be ready to use the scripture the right way so we can fight back!

HEY-O SKIDS!
In week 2 of our series, the Shoreline Kids continued to learn more on how we can work to become More Like Jesus.

Let's take a moment to focus in on our verse of the series.
"Lord show me Your ways. Teach me how to follow You." Psalm 25:4

We need God to teach us the paths that we should walk in. So we look to God as our teacher and we think about the Holy Spirit as the teacher in us, leading, guiding, directing our thoughts as we meditate on His word and we walk in obedience to it.
If we try to lead our own path, this only leads to disaster. By following God and letting him guide our way, this will lead us to eternity.

Following God's word helps us to become more like Jesus!

Hello Shoreline Kids!! This week we started a new 4 week series, "More Like Jesus"!!!!

We are made to become like Jesus! Jesus set the perfect example of how to live a life that honors God.
Jesus loved and served God and others will all of His actions! We are meant to imitate as much of Jesus' character as we possibly can!
This is the process that we are to continue throughout our whole lives! Through this we are able to love and serve God well, love and serve others well, and exist as a living testament to the love of Jesus!

Our Shoreline Kids will spend the next few weeks learning what it means to be more like Jesus!

Hey Shoreline Kids!!!!
We hope everyone is staying nice and warm while anticipating the possibility of snow!
This past Sunday we finished up our series, "Building Blocks."
In this series, we have looked at the Basis, or the Building Blocks of what we believe. We aren't talking about actual blocks, we are talking more about foundation.
This week, we talked about "What does it mean to be a disciple?”
Being a disciple used to have a very clear and straightforward meaning. The first disciples left everything to follow Jesus physically in hopes to become like him.
Even though we cannot physically follow Jesus around from town to town anymore, the heart behind discipleship is still very much the same. In the heart of every disciple there is a desire and there is a decision.
In other words, we WANT to be like Jesus in every area of our life, so we MAKE CHANGES to become more like Jesus.
It may not always be easy to be like Jesus, but it is possible because God is working in you and even though it can be difficult it is always worth it!
There will always be room for improvement. We won’t be perfect but that’s okay. We keep taking steps to become more and more like Jesus every day.
Discipleship is about taking steps towards Jesus. Not constantly thinking about your past mistakes. It’s about actively following Jesus and becoming more like him.
