It will also help us keep you informed about all the events and news that concerns the Muslim community in Des Plaines and around metropolitan Chicago. The Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines was established in 1989 for Muslim worshipers living in and around Des Plaines, IL. All prayers and religious activities were carried out at an old house purchased in 1989. The Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines has been conducting religious activities in a masjid, which was housed for over fifteen years in a single-family residence. It is a blessing of Allah (SWT) that we were able to build a new, bigger mosque that can serve all the Muslims in the surrounding suburbs for many generations to come. Al-hamdulillah, it is a real pleasure to see the Muslim population growing all over the world, spreading the word of God and building the communities on the basis of faith and truth. In addition to serving the needs of the Muslim community in Des Plaines and metropolitan Chicago through all the activities that are being held in the Mosque, we, here at the Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines, are committed to promoting Islamic values and Knowledge, as well as strengthening our community by educating and helping Muslims in a society where confusion and lack of spiritual values dominate. This page is mainly targeting all Muslims that live in the area, however, it is also targeting non-Muslims who are seeking information about Islam, and would like to get answers to all their questions right from Muslims themselves. ICC of Des Plaines is your center and can’t be improved without your contributions, so we ask you to be generous and help in serving and strengthening the Islamic Community in this Area.

ICCD Community Notice Regarding Overnight Parking Lot Closure

Important Community Safety Notice

The Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines (ICCD) would like to inform our community members and neighbors of an incident that recently occurred in the ICCD parking lot after midnight, well after the Masjid had closed for the night. A group of teenagers became involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical wrestling-style confrontation, resulting in law enforcement being contacted and responding to the scene.

We would like to clearly state that ICCD administration, staff, board members, volunteers, congregants, and official activities had no involvement whatsoever in this incident. The event occurred after normal operating hours and was not connected to any ICCD-sponsored program or gathering.

The safety and security of our community, our neighbors, and our facilities remain a top priority. Therefore, after careful consideration, ICCD Management has adopted the following overnight parking lot policy effective immediately:
Overnight Parking Lot Closure Policy
The ICCD parking lot gates will be closed one (1) hour after Isha prayer each night.
The gates will reopen one (1) hour before Fajr prayer each morning.
No vehicles will be permitted to enter or exit the parking lot during the closure period.
No individuals are permitted to remain in or congregate within the parking lot during closed hours.
The ICCD parking lot is private property, and all overnight presence on the premises during closed hours is strictly prohibited unless specifically authorized by ICCD Management.
No trespassing is allowed.

Any individual found on ICCD property during closed hours without authorization will be considered trespassing and may be reported to local law enforcement authorities. Violators may face removal from the property and possible criminal penalties as permitted by law.

We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our community members and neighbors as we implement these measures to maintain a safe, peaceful, and respectful environment for everyone.

May Allah (SWT) protect our community and guide our youth toward positive and beneficial activities.
