It will also help us keep you informed about all the events and news that concerns the Muslim community in Des Plaines and around metropolitan Chicago. The Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines was established in 1989 for Muslim worshipers living in and around Des Plaines, IL. All prayers and religious activities were carried out at an old house purchased in 1989. The Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines has been conducting religious activities in a masjid, which was housed for over fifteen years in a single-family residence. It is a blessing of Allah (SWT) that we were able to build a new, bigger mosque that can serve all the Muslims in the surrounding suburbs for many generations to come. Al-hamdulillah, it is a real pleasure to see the Muslim population growing all over the world, spreading the word of God and building the communities on the basis of faith and truth. In addition to serving the needs of the Muslim community in Des Plaines and metropolitan Chicago through all the activities that are being held in the Mosque, we, here at the Islamic Community Center of Des Plaines, are committed to promoting Islamic values and Knowledge, as well as strengthening our community by educating and helping Muslims in a society where confusion and lack of spiritual values dominate. This page is mainly targeting all Muslims that live in the area, however, it is also targeting non-Muslims who are seeking information about Islam, and would like to get answers to all their questions right from Muslims themselves. ICC of Des Plaines is your center and can’t be improved without your contributions, so we ask you to be generous and help in serving and strengthening the Islamic Community in this Area.

🕌 Alhamdulillah — A Beautiful Success for ICCD’s First Community Dinner

Yesterday marked a special milestone for our community as ICCD hosted its first Community Dinner, and the turnout, spirit, and unity were truly inspiring. The masjid was filled with families, youth, elders, and new faces — all coming together between Maghrib and Isha to share a meal, learn, and strengthen our bonds as one community.

On behalf of the ICCD Management, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, participated, and benefited from the program. Your presence is what made this gathering meaningful, warm, and uplifting.

A very special thank you goes to the family of Br. Aftab Baig and his son Shafee, who generously sponsored the dinner for the entire community. May Allah reward them abundantly for their kindness, hospitality, and commitment to supporting ICCD and its mission.

This first dinner set a beautiful example of what community engagement can look like — welcoming, educational, and rooted in brotherhood and sisterhood. We look forward to many more gatherings like this, insha’Allah, as we continue building a stronger, more connected ICCD family.
