Well, it's official--after 34 years, I am officially retired as the Sr. Pastor of EFCDP as of yesterday, April 30, 2025. The church provided a wonderful send-off for us on Saturday, which we deeply appreciated. We were so happy that Debb's sister, Delci, and her husband, Mike, could make the trip from California to be with us for the weekend. Our plan is to retire to California so we can be closer to them. We have lived far away from any close family members for our entire career (except for one of Debb's cousins, who retired and moved to Indiana), so now that we are retired, we want to be closer to family. The relationships we have been blessed to have with our church family are exceedingly important, as evidenced by all the tears, hugs, and kind words people have shared with us. Having to get a truck and move nearly my library all the materials I have accumulated over these years by myself was a very difficult challenge, but with my wife's help last night, we managed to get everything cleared out by 9 PM. Thanks to everyone who encouraged, supported, and loved us over these many years. We will have all eternity to get together and share our memories of serving Christ together. Acts 20:32.
