We are excited to welcome Sam Halligan as our speaker tomorrow for First Friday Encounter. Sam Halligan is a dynamic speaker with a passion for revitalizing the Church. With an infectious sense of humor and powerful conviction, Sam engages audiences with his unique blend of fun and passion. Sam is a graduate of Benedictine College with degrees in Theology and Evangelization. Since serving in full-time ministry he has spoken to over 15,000 individuals and speaks to thousands every year. He runs a men’s podcast: Modern Man and authors a Substack publication, “Iron and Oak”. Sam is a dedicated and committed husband to Whitney and father to their three children. He serves with FORGE as the Director of Mission for Des Moines and regularly engages the adventure of life through CrossFit, triathlons, travel, authoring books & resources, and mentoring men.

We are so excited to welcome Beth Handeland as our speaker for February's First Friday!

Beth is a proud Catholic wife and mother of three beautiful children. Beth works as the interim liturgy coordinator for St. Pius X Catholic Church in Urbandale. She is passionate about her faith and spends her free time mentoring teens through ministries like Made 4 More and Edge on the middle school level and with SPY, SPX’s high school youth group. Outside of church, school and work activities, Beth enjoys spending time fishing and exploring the great outdoors with her family.

We'll see you on us Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church! Meal at 6 pm and Adoration at 7 pm.

🌟 Thank you to everyone who joined us for First Friday! We were honored to welcome Fr. John Owusu-Agyemang, who shared his moving story of answering Christ’s call with courage and joy. His words reminded us that faith is a daily “yes” to God.

📅 Mark your calendars—our next First Friday is October 3. We’ll begin with dinner at 6:00 pm, followed by the program at 7:00 pm. Come and experience an evening of community, food, and faith-filled witness.
