Excellent workshop led by Rev. Joel Rodriguez on the theme, “God Walks with God’s Migrant People.” Sponsored by UBL Costa Rica, this workshop provided a wonderful opportunity to receive valuable tools for accompanying and supporting immigrant families.

Annual Conference season has begun in the Greater Northwest Episcopal Area. We had a beautiful opening worship service where we were invited to Love Boldly. It was a beautiful service. Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make this meaningful time possible. Blessings!

Hoy tuvimos un muy lindo evento en la Iglesia Metodista Unida de Stanwood. Fue un día especial de convivencia y compañerismo con iglesias del área, donde compartimos juntos la película David.

Damos gracias al Equipo Hispano, Aurora Pavon, Zulma Tifre y Wilma Reyes por soñar con este evento y trabajar en la planificación del mismo. También agradecemos al Rev. Joel Rodríguez por su hospitalidad y por recibirnos con tanto amor en su iglesia. ¡Tuvimos casa llena!

Además, compartimos popcorn, hotdogs y snacks. Fue un tiempo donde apreciamos y abrazamos la diversidad, haciendo nuevas amistades y conexiones.

Today we had a wonderful event at Stanwood United Methodist Church. It was a beautiful day of fellowship with churches from the area as we gathered together to watch the movie David.

We give thanks to the Hispanic Team, Aurora Pavon, Zulma Tifre, and Wilma Reyes for dreaming about this event and helping with its planning. We also thank Rev. Joel Rodríguez for his hospitality and for welcoming us with so much love into his church. We had a full house!

We also shared popcorn, hotdogs, and snacks. It was a meaningful time where we appreciated and embraced diversity while making new friends and connections.

Today we had a very productive meeting with the Hispanic/Latinx leaders of the Greater Northwest Episcopal Area. We discussed the events leading up to our Annual Conferences, as well as the dates and locations for those conferences. We also planned the Family Movie activity at Stanwood UMC and the August event for youth exploring a call to ministry.

We are grateful for the commitment and dedication of our leaders, and especially for the leadership of our President, Aurora Pavon, for guiding us during this meeting.

We are very encouraged by what is happening within the Hispanic/Latinx Ministries in our Episcopal Area. Let us keep moving forward—¡Sí se puede! Blessings.

Hoy tuvimos una reunión muy productiva con los líderes Hispanos/Latinx del Área Episcopal del Noroeste Mayor. Hablamos sobre los eventos previos a nuestras Conferencias Anuales, así como las fechas y lugares de dichas conferencias. Today I had the blessing of attending the service of the Hispanic/Latinx Faith Community at Des Moines UMC. It was a beautiful moment, getting to know a vibrant Latino community from many different places.

I give thanks to God for the collaboration of Rev. Derek Nakano and Des Moines United Methodist Church, along with Rev. Gerardo Guzman and Dios Viviente United Methodist Church. This is a wonderful opportunity to grow together and build a community that serves the growing Hispanic/Latinx population in the Des Moines area.

I am very grateful for the initiative of the Hispanic/Latinx Committee of the PNW Annual Conference in gathering during the interviews of our Latino candidates with the Puget Sound DCOM. Thank you, Aurora, for organizing this meeting, and many thanks to Rev. Joel Rodriguez for serving as translator during these very important interviews.
