The Annual Catholic Appeal has opened, and we are steadily heading toward our goal. We are deeply blessed by those who have already contributed. The ACA supports many ministries and services throughout our Archdiocese. Please visit our website, use the parish app, or donate in person with envelopes in the church.

Father Todd will facilitate a new small group study program featuring Edward
Sri. See the attached schedule for more details about when and where classes take place! We'll explore the classical view of morality and find that it is not merely a set of guiding principles for theoretical situations—it is an entire way of life. What is "right" and "wrong"? Is what's right for you right for me? Is there a right and wrong for everyone, all the time?

These are difficult questions to discuss in our culture. We live in a society that supports the opinion that each person should make up his or her own morality—that there is no moral truth that applies to everyone. Many of us have been affected by the relativistic outlook that pervades the modern world. Maybe some of us wonder whether there really is an absolute right and wrong for everyone. Or maybe we accept that there is a moral standard for all, but we don't know how to explain our moral convictions in a convincing way. Maybe some of us are afraid of saying something is immoral because we are afraid of offending others or of being labeled intolerant. How do we talk about morality in a relativistic world?

We will begin in the church with a time of instruction and practice, reviewing the reverence, responsibilities, and rubrics of serving at Holy Mass. This will be an opportunity to ask questions, deepen your understanding of the liturgy, and grow in confidence and devotion in your ministry at the Altar. Afterward, we’ll enjoy games, pizza, and time together as a server community.

Whether you are an experienced server or newly interested in serving, you are warmly welcome to join us. New servers are especially encouraged to come and learn more about this important ministry. So we can plan lunch, please let us know if you can attend by June 4th.

St. Philomena Parish wishes all mothers a blessed Mother's Day.
Proverbs 31:28-29: "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 'Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all'".
