Here at Capitol Hill, we're gearing up for this year's Capital City PrideFest! Last Sunday, we passed out this year's Pride T Shirt orders and took youth orders outside to tie-dye their pride shirts in brilliant rainbow colors!

Looking to participate? We're still looking for participants to walk the parade with us! Contact us via our main office to sign up.

We are also looking for Candy donations! We will be throwing candy out during the parade, so donations of small, individually wrapped candy are welcome!

Over the past two years, our Clothes Closet ministry has worked intentionally to expand its food offerings in response of the growing needs of our neighbors. Recently, this expansion has included the introduction of suggested food items to help guide donations. This June, our donation theme is "Favorite Sandwich Items". We invite you to participate by adding a few items to your grocery cart each week and bringing them on Sundays. A designated Food Pantry cart will be available every Sunday during worship for easy drop off.
Suggested Items:
•Bread (sandwich)
•Tortillas
•Peanut butter & Jelly
•Canned Chicken, Tuna, and Salmon
•Mayonnaise, Mustard, Ketchup, Ranch
•Hot Pockets (frozen)
•Crackers
•Pickles
•Olives
•Refried Beans
•Cucumbers

On Pentecost Sunday, we celebrated the work of the Spirit through the diverse voices and languages of our community. The service was complete with offerings from our choir, ribbon dancing from our youth, and the story of Pentecost told in eight different languages! Afterwards, we gathered downstairs in our fellowship hall for what a certain pastor has described as "The Best Lutheran Potluck Ever", our Pentecost Potluck. The table was full of food lovingly prepared by our congregation, with dishes selected intentionally to represent our cultural and ethnic backgrounds. It was a beautiful Sunday morning spent sharing and celebrating the diversity within our congregation, and the gifts that it brings.

🥕🫑🍅Last Sunday, our youth gathered outside to help plant this year's community garden! 🍅🫑🥕

This ministry shares produce with members of our community by way of our Clothes Closet's Food Pantry, as well as anyone who stops by to enjoy some fresh veggies!

We are so grateful for the energy and enthusiasm brought to this meaningful work. Thank you to these young members of our community for showing up for their neighbors with care, creativity, and love!
