We believe that people are empowered by the Holy Spirit to tell the world around them about Jesus. We understand this empowerment to be distinct from and subsequent to salvation. The Holy Spirit fills each believer continually with increased power for Christian life, testimony, and service. We also believe the same gifts of the Holy Spirit that were at work in the firs

t-century church are available for the strengthening of the Church today. Unfortunately, the word charismatic oftentimes has a negative connotation in the church world (usually associated with bizarre/unbiblical experiences and extravagant TV evangelists, which we do not endorse). Charismatic, however, simply means "gifted" and that is our desire as a church body - to be supernaturally enabled by the Holy Spirit to make a difference in our world for Jesus! We are Pentellectuals
We believe that everything God did in Biblical times, He is able to do today. The Bible says to "taste and see that the Lord is good" (Psalm 34:8), and so we are open to Biblical Spirit encounters. However, we believe anything that the Spirit does, harmonizes with what the Word of God says. Jesus said the Great Commandment is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Matthew 22:37). We desire to be fully Biblical and fully open to God's Spirit (in other words, we desire "orthodoxy on fire").

What a hugely successful Wednesday night Kids & Youth Night! 🍕🍿🥤
Tonight we celebrated the end of the school year with pizza, popcorn, Monster, root beer floats, and a showing of the new animated movie David. It was an incredible evening filled with fun, laughter, fellowship, and God's love.
What a great way for our kids and youth to kick off their summer here at First Church of the Open Bible! We are truly blessed to serve, blessed to pour into the next generation, and blessed to walk alongside these amazing young people as they grow in faith.
Thank you to everyone who helped make tonight possible. We can't wait to see what God has in store this summer!

What an incredible night at our 2nd Annual Bingo Night Youth Fundraiser!
Another huge victory made possible by our amazing First Church of the Open Bible family and community coming together to support our youth. Because of your generosity, love, and support, we are helping lower the cost for our young people to attend another life-changing experience where they can grow in faith, build friendships, and encounter God in powerful ways.
The night was filled with laughter, fellowship, family fun, great prizes, and hearts united for a great cause. We are beyond thankful for every person who donated, volunteered, played bingo, and showed up to support the next generation.
