There are so many things associated with summer: swimming, family vacation, school break, and reading, just to name a few. But one thing I love is camping, or just sitting around a nice firepit with friends/family. This summer, Revive Church is bringing back one of our favorite summer series: Campfire Stories! 🔥We'll be telling stories from different places in the Bible as we gather together on Sunday mornings, taking a new adventure each week. So throw on your camping gear (either literally or figuratively) and join us as we kick off our series this week! 🐻⛺️

Our Community Lawn Care Days are about to start for the season. Once a month we help out one of our neighbors in Highland Park/Oak Park by tackling their lawn care needs: mowing, weeding, trimming, shaping, hauling away brush, etc. Save the dates now to be a part of serving our community.

Good morning, Revive! Our next CFN is coming up soon. This is an important one, so plan now to join us.

On this Memorial Day, we recognize and honor all of those who have lost their lives fighting for justice and freedom while serving our country. We mourn your sacrifice and the cruelties of war. To the families and loved ones left behind, we pray for you. For those who have served, we thank you. And for those who are currently serving, may God watch over you and keep you safe in body, mind and spirit.

As I've grown older, I've discovered that May is a month that can be a little deceptive. I'm prepared for November and December to have heavier lifts, both at church and in our personal lives. But May sneaks in, catching me unaware until I'm halfway through and I'm feeling the pressure of the full schedule and the to do lists. It's easy to get caught up in the busyness, then crash at the end of the day.

However, as I think about the holy day of Pentecost that we'll be celebrating on Sunday, I'm reminded of the importance of pausing and dwelling in God's presence. So today, I want to share a couple of breath prayers with you where you can hit the pause button and refocus on God. I encourage you to take a few minutes between now and Sunday morning to sit quietly with God, and pray these words.
- Emmanuel (breathing in), draw near to me (breathing out)
- Holy Spirit (breathing in), grant me your peace (breathing out)

Feel free to come up with your own words or create your own breath prayer. And keep the prayer on your lips as you go about your day to help reorient your spirit back to God. The to do list will always be there. Tasks will never end. But we have to pause and dwell with God in the midst of life.
You are loved.
