On April 17 at 3pm at Luther Memorial Church, Grand View will host a lecture presented by Dr. Tim Wengert, one of the most important ELCA Reformation historians of the last four decades. Dr. Wengert served for many years on the faculty of United Lutheran Seminary and helped translate the most recent edition of the Book of Concord. He is widely acknowledged in international circles for his work in Reformation history and is a highly respected leader in the ELCA. Join us for a fun Friday afternoon of professional development and a reception hosted by Grand View grants.

Book recommendation alert! I finished reading Andrew and Kara Root's new book; it's about letting go and embracing the uncontrollable. Here's one of my favorite quotes, "Parenting and church leadership are all about the uncontrollable...Our job is to welcome one another back to the relationful [sic] relating that opens us to life and resonance, to walk the slow pace of love alongside God-with-us, who walks alongside us in our humanity" (218).
